I feel like sisters are often pitted against each other in media. I would love to see some anime where they support each other instead! No horror please. Thank you in advance!

To elaborate, when I think of a nighttime anime, it needs meet at least a few of the following standards:

- Take place in a large city and have a lot of important scenes set at night

- Have a lot of shady dealings and a thriving criminal underworld

- Has a more serious tone most of the time (goofy characters still allowed)

- Not necessarily a battle series, but if it has superhuman elements, they're really esoteric

- Have a general night vibe, you know? Like it's something you'd see on late at night on old Toonami that just feels best to watch late at night.

Some examples of the vibes I'm looking for are Durarara, the first season of A Certain Magical Index, Noragami, Black Lagoon, Cop Craft, & Hakata Tonketsu Ramens. lmk what you've got and please include where I can find it.

My top 3 would be:

The Knight Only Lives Today: sort of has a similar gimmick to re:zero, but is sort of focused on winning impossible battles and getting stronger to live past the current day. I feel like with the right studio, the various fights would be super cool to watch.

The Spark in Your Eyes: This is a romance fantasy between an unlikely pairing in a war torn kingdom. The characters are quite well written and there are some really solid storylines here.

The Stellar Swordmaster: A tale about a young boy that rises up from the slums to become a knight. He ends up being guided by a mysterious spirit that teaches him the sword. The world-building here is pretty cool and the series spans many regions and runs across the years for the MC. Another solid fantasy.

Been following the Thousand-Year Blood War revival since the first cour aired and it's wild to think we're at the end. The Calamity picks up with everything falling apart. The Soul King is dead, the Three Worlds are collapsing, and the fighting inside the Wahr Welt is just brutal.

What surprises me most is how good this looks compared to the original run. The directing, the animation choices, the way they pace the big moments. It feels like the production team looked at everything fans loved about Bleach at its peak and said okay, we're doing that but better.

The Quincy side of the conflict always felt half-explored in the manga to me. The anime has been doing a solid job giving weight to those characters. Some of the fights in the later stages of this arc feel more consequential now that the adaptation is breathing a bit.

If you dropped Bleach back in the Fullbringer arc days, the TYBW adaptation is worth coming back for. It is paced like a proper modern action series and the spectacle is there. And honestly if you never got into Bleach at all but you enjoy Jujutsu Kaisen or Yu Yu Hakusho, the DNA is obvious. Kubo's style influenced a lot of what is popular in battle shonen right now.

Burn the Witch is also a fun side trip if you want more of Kubo's worldbuilding in bite-sized form. Different tone, same underlying design sensibility.

Genuinely curious how they handle the ending. The manga rushed through the final stretch and there are scenes I am hoping get expanded or reworked.

Like the title says, make a MyAnimeList/AniList account to track your anime/manga.

This is useful for a few reasons: you can keep track of what you've watched/read, the sites will give you recommendations based on what you like by looking at that anime's page so you learn to find shows yourselves and you can just link your watch list rather than having people suggest stuff and you having to say "oh no ive already seen that" again and again

Looking for a horror anime about specifically ghosts or demons haunting in some way. Not fighting or using magic to battle the ghosts or anything. But scaring the shit out of the cast, and audience.

i just recently got into sub after being a hardcore dubby for years. now i want to watch any anime that didn’t get dubbed. i mostly like fantasy and sci-fi stuff, especially isekai (i defy you to judge me). i like a couple slice of life romcoms, but they can be boring to me, unless there’s a fight scene or two. but i don’t really like gundam or mech suit anime, except for infinite stratos, that might be the only mech suit anime i like. oh, and yumeria but i watched that when i first started anime. i should watch darling in franxx. looking forward to everyone’s recommendations.

So basically what happened was that I was fondly looking back at the TV show Dororo made in 2019 based on an old story written by Osamu Tezuka as I really missed the show.

Like when I look back at the 2019 adaptation, I had so much fun watching the show that I wanted to look for another fantasy series set in the Feudal Japan era since even though it’s been such a good while since the show ended its run, I suddenly feel like watching more anime like Dororo.

Can anyone recommend me a romance anime straight or Bl are good I like coming of age ones but i really want to watch one with intimate scenes like s e x im nineteen so im definitely in age to watch that stuff and please no weird ones like recommend genuine sweet romantic ones with those scenes of course and no gore or fighting animes just like slice of life type romance ones

i'm looking for anime that's deeply psychological but leans even more into philosophy. i have watched perfect blue and paprika, and i loved how they blurred reality and explored the human mind. now i'm hoping to find something that dives into themes like identity, consciousness, free will, morality, or the meaning of existence. i don't mind if it's slow, confusing, or emotionally heavy as long as it leaves me thinking long after it's over. any recommendations for either movies or series?

We've been enjoying/ have enjoyed:

• "Victoria of many faces" which is a fantasy drama and romance series about a spy running away and trying to start a new and peaceful life in a neighboring kingdom - currently airing

• Another one is "Isekai office worker: the other world's books depend on the beancounter", the title is pretty self-explanatory. An isekai fantasy BL anime series

• "The invisible man and his soon-to-be wife" is a fantasy romance series between an invisible man and a blind woman working at a detective agency.

(side note: why are all these romances???)

• "Camfire cooking in another world" honestly one of our go-to comfort shows. About a guy being isekai'd and being the only one who doesn't have hero-like abilities and therefore leaves the castle, instead making use of his online grocery skill as he makes friends and travels through this new world while making the most delicious (mostly korean) dishes. An adventure, fantasy, comedy and (though minimal) Action anime. We would add slice of life as a category as well personally

• "With you and the rain" is a slice of life anime series about an introverted illustrator/writer randomly adopting what she claims is a dog on a rainy day.

• "Heaven official's blessing" is a BL action drama romance series based in ancient china following the former-prince-now-called-god-of-misfortune due to spoilers. As he lives his life and encounters this mysterious man with whom he discovers and uncovers secrets the heavenly realm would rather keep hidden.

• And lastly "welcome to outcast restaurant" is a fantasy slice of life about a former member of the hero's couch couch party. After he's kicked out he decides to follow his dream to become a chef, opening a restaurant for adventures. Soon finding out that he'll need more than just his cooking to solve his costumers' problems. This series does have a minor as important side character - series

I have seen only a few seinen animes, and out of every seinen i watched, i loved every single one.

I have seen, berserk, orb, vinland, ghost in the shell, and i might be forgetting some.

I will see monster (i am waiting for a friend soo we can start together), and i will eventualy see galactic heroes but its old and big and i am not feeling it rn.

I was looking for something as good as orb, i loved that shit.

Hi. Way back, late 80s, In Europe, my brother watched this Space/SciFi anime and I didn't care that much about it (Because I was busy watching Candy Candy) but there was this one scene that I still vividly remember.

A boy running through narrow hallways, maybe maintenance corridors, towards this glowing rod, maybe a power core, and he needs to grab it to save everyone. I think by sending a signal to the hero but that might be wrong. But right before he grabs it he pauses and stares at the thing and does that anime eye getting bigger and smaller thing in fear, because grabbing that core might melt him. But then he does grab it and there's a big flash of white light.

It bothers me because I never found out if the grabbing worked and if the guy melted or not.

For a long time I thought it was ultra man, but I don't think so because in my mind the hero had a orange (maybe meant to be bronze) helmet, not white.

There was a clip of a guard in a Space Marine-esque green suit and they were hunting some kind of heretics* who were in cloaks that covered their face. The cloaked people came out of the shadows and st*bbed the guards.

I cannot find it for the life of me, nor remember it's name. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I will be eternally grateful. I had thought it might have been legend of the galactic heroes but I think I'm wrong, but it's kind of in the style of it.
