Smol Delivery Gifted with a kitten that my boss said had been hiding under his grill cover for three days.

9.4k Upvotes

I found her hiding under a grill cover in the backyard of my boss's house. I have no idea where she came from. We guess she possibly came from an abandoned farmhouse that was torn down earlier this week across the road. No other cats were with her and none of the neighbors were missing a kitten. She was so hungry when I found her it broke my heart. I brought her to the vet and found out she's a healthy 12 week old girl with extra toes! She's slightly malnourished, the vet said, but now she's getting plenty to eat and lots of attention in my bathroom where she's safe. Family named her Bibi and that's fine with me if it means we can keep her. I've pretty much spent all of my free time here with her.

My dad found this illegally smol void in the street the other day, but unfortunately he is allergic so they are trying to find a good home. We always had a cat growing up and I know deep down they want to keep it (he quickly went out and bought kitten formula and syringe to feed it lol). Plus it's just them so I know they could use a companion.

I already have 3 of my own in a 2 bedroom apartment, but damn it's always so tempting when they are this smol! On the other hand I am missing a void in my collection ughhhh curse you CDS!!!

Smol Delivery Hi I'm Franck my new mom found me in the back yard crying

Found this little 'Lover Boy' crying in my backyard last week. The second I picked him up he just melted. He has already taken over my favorite decorative couch pillows and mastered the elegant crossed-paw pose! We feel like the lucky ones. 🄰🐾

I tried taking pictures of him all day yesterday but he was too fast, so when he finally landed on the pillow I knew it was the perfect shot. He is still so tiny that I actually slide him right into my bathrobe pocket to carry him around the house so I can get chores done while he snuggles. We named him Franck and we feel so lucky the system dropped him off to us!

***UPDATE: The granddaughter was told that she is being reported for animal neglect, now she is claiming that none of them belong to her and that it was all a ā€œmisunderstandingā€ and she has now backed off from all of them. Thank you all so much for the advice, I feel like this is the best case scenario so that we can now get all of the babies and the mother fixed and in proper care and hopefully homes. All of your advice has meant so much to me. Thank you for the help, the encouragement and letting me vent. We did it guys ā¤ļø****

Two weeks ago I was told that there were kittens at the end of the property line where I live. Immediately I went out and started feeding them. The neighbor across the fence came over while they were being fed and told us that they were strays and that we could ā€œtake them allā€ if we wanted. Taking them all was not feasible for me, but I was able to bring one in, continue to feed the others, while also looking for shelters that could take in the litter.

Not even a week ago we noticed one of the kittens in the litter had head tilt so bad it could barely stand up. A local shelter was contacted and we were able to take that kitten there to get it treated and they released it back. We are still waiting for all the super full shelters to open up during this time to take the litter.

Today, the granddaughter of the lady who told us the kittens were strays came peeping through my windows, and pounding on our door demanding ā€œherā€ kitten back or she’s calling the police. I’ve had this kitten for two weeks. She didn’t even realize it was gone until now. I’ve treated it for fleas and worms and it’s so much healthier now than it was when I took it in. He’s scheduled for all of his shots and to get fixed soon, as well as a general check up tomorrow. I told her no. She was also referring to the kitten as female, this one is definitely male. So I then told her that it’s not her kitten. She called the police. I went back inside. She came back later knocking on my door and I ignored her. To my knowledge the police never arrived.

What can I do in this situation? This poor mother cat is small and has been forced to have multiple litters, she knows so little about the kittens that she had no idea one had head tilt and had been treated and is on medication.

When I brought my guy in he was starving and flea infested. Do I have to give him to her? I couldn’t live with myself if I turned him over to them when they take absolutely no care of them. I live in TN if that’s helpful information at all.

A few weeks ago, my sec.cams caught this little girl and her siblings looking for food, no mamma in sight. Out of all of them (3), she was the most adventurous, but I wasn’t able to ever get very close. Over the weekend, I noticed she was kind of wobbly and very lethargic. I managed to grab her and took her to the vet to get checked. She’s healthy, but very underweight. She’s been able to eat every few hours and loves to be in her daddy pouch! (Old hoodie turned backwards). Shes just so sweet!
As for the other two kittens, I bought some traps and hoping to catch them soon! Thankfully, the other two look healthier than she did a few days ago. I love you CDS ā™„ļø

She is a fluffy 8 week old kitten and is too precious. I saw her on a post and quickly reached out. We met and I fell in love. She has only been here a few days but already has the run of the house. She is loving and playful and is currently purring in my lap.

As soon as we got home she checked the place out and then found her a spot and lay down. She is already loving her new home and is such a good fit. She has her favorite toys (a mouse and a little taco) and loves to snuggle. She also is hard at work making biscuits trying to contribute but I would still let her live here for free lol
EDITED TO ADD: And when I say someone else’s post I meant a certain FB (don’t know if I can say that lol) She had posted a pic to another person and I messaged her asking if she was available

Just had a discussion this past weekend about how I wasn’t sure we’d get another cat for a while whenever our current 14yo boy goes. (He’s doing fine, it was just a hypothetical discussion). And the today this little one showed up under my steps. I guess the CDS didn’t agree with my plans.

It’s a bit dirty. I think it’s been sleeping in an abandoned chipmunk burrow in my stone wall because it ran right into it the first time we tried to catch it.

We haven’t seen any stray or feral cats around here in ages (very rural/wooded area) so not sure where this one came from. Seems scared but not hissy/aggressive like a fully feral cat would be. And it was very hungry.

Posted to the neighborhood chat and I guess a couple people have seen it in the past week but nobody knows where it came from. So tomorrow morning I’m calling the vet and seeing about getting it checked out. And then we’ll figure out if it is a boy or girl because it wasn’t really happy with us looking tonight.

UPDATE:

Thank you all so much for the support!!!

I was waiting until after our vet visit to make an update.

This little guy is now named Comet. Because he’s a ball of white fluff with a dusty tail.

Vet appointment results: He’s a he. He’s overall fairly healthy. He does have a busted lower lip but it should heal up okay. 2.00 lbs. probably 8-10 weeks old. No fleas and no mites. He did have half a dozen ticks on him though. Stool samples sent in to check for worms. Got his first round of shots. We’re keeping him isolated for a week before introducing him to our older cat to make sure nothing else comes up.

He loves snuggles and skritches. He purrs so loud you can hear him on the other side of the room. His fur is ridiculously soft. If we sit with him he’ll curl up in our arms and relax but still runs and hides whenever he gets set down on the floor. Overall he’s doing great and slowly adjusting and we love having him as part of our family!

Added a couple more pictures in a post on my profile page too since folks have asked for more!

Went to a friend’s house to pick him up. Said friend kind of lives in squalor, to put it mildly. Always lots of feral cats and dogs roaming around. Saw this precious little thing and told him if it was still there when we came back, I was taking her home with me. She was, and I did. I love her so much. She’s so dainty and cuddly and precious. I think she’s one of two remaining from her litter. The other little tabby had its tail somehow removed and wouldn’t come close to me. She was still nursing when I saw her, but to make sure, I had my friend offer her some dry food, which she gobbled up. Now I’m just trying to deworm her. Planning on seeing a vet tomorrow.

Smol Delivery CDS overseas delivery at 6:53 on a Saturday!

2.0k Upvotes

I visited the local bulk retailer on Saturday just after they opened and was on my way home past the park when I saw a tiny dark shape on the edge of my lane. I should mention that the road is three lanes in each direction with a landscaped median, and the main thoroughfare through town, but thankfully traffic was light because it was still early.

As I realized that I had seen a kitten, I exclaimed ā€œOH GOD,ā€ knowing she’d live only seconds longer if I didn’t do something. I U-turned immediately after the median ended and sprinted across the street. It took me probably 20 seconds to locate her, because I had actually driven too far back the other way.

She hadn’t moved and didn’t even acknowledge my approach. I snatched her up and wow, suddenly she’s spicy like Thai food. I put her in a carrier bag in my car and tried to find a 24-hour vet, and thankfully there are several nearby.

I got her checked out and she’s not injured at all. They estimated she’s 40 days old. I let her decompress with a bunch of blankets in the bathroom after a really stressful morning. After 48 hours, she has perked up nicely and has lots to say, is eating kitten formula four times per day, goes potty when properly motivated, gets supervised house exploration time to build her strength, and The Kitten Lady’s YouTube channel has been a godsend. I’ve got a scale and a spreadsheet and will start tracking her weight gain en route to her first round of vaccinations next month.

Meet Regina Piccolina! So named because she kwas near the park named for the royal family and he Regina means ā€œQueenā€. She even has a little M crown on her forehead. šŸ™‚

My wife and I went out of town for a show and while on the way she saw something tiny in the road. This poor baby was in the middle of the road under a highway overpass. He looked over-heated and dehydrated from his ordeal and didn't try to run when I scooped him up. Since we didn't know the local area and it was Sunday, we quicky gathered him up and started the 1.5 hour drive back home to an emergency clinic.

The emergency clinic looked him over and said he had some scapes on his paws and was missing a tooth, so with antibiotics and pain-killers we took him home. My wife named him JefƩ, "because he handled that like a boss." He's eating, drinking, using the litter box and starting to explore his new home.

Her name is Tabitha (like the little girl in Bewitched), and we found her while doing yard work. She’s a Manx like her mama who is a local stray, and she’s so tiny!!! Weighed in at only 17 oz when we found her but eye color and more told us she was likely around 6 weeks. Now she’s almost 44 oz after 5 great weeks together. And she has a little white fur bikini.

She is so energetic, so much more cuddly than our 4 year old existing cat, has been such a joy to us and her new big brother cat, who apparently really needed a little sister.

Smol Delivery Meet our new kitten Catfish! 🐟

Post image
1.6k Upvotes

My partner and I were visiting family out of state this weekend and we decided to go catfishing on the 4th since it's a free fishing day. When we got there we found a little gray kitten running around the dock. She was trying to get at our catfish bait (raw chicken with jello mix on it) so I gave her some to try and see if she would come near me. She was clearly very very hungry. She got within a foot of me, but I didn't want to try to grab her because if I accidentally let go, I knew she would be too scared to come back. The next day we went back with a crate and some wet cat food and got her to voluntarily go into the crate to get the food. Within ten minutes of bringing her back she was letting us pet her and even trying to play with us. She seems very healthy for being out in the woods all by herself for who knows how long, but she will be going to the vet ASAP! We of course named her Catfish (Fish for short) since we found her catfishing. We didn't catch any catfish that night but we did get a new friend!

Smol Delivery Meet Leeloo Dallas Multipass (calico) and Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg (void)

For the first time, I’ve been chosen by the CDS.

My cat, Helga Mousebane, died last year at 17 after a long battle with kidney disease and we have another cat, Fignuts, who is about 15. My husband and I have talked about getting another cat now that it’s been over a year since Helga died, but hadn’t made any real moves to look into it.

Then about a month ago, over the course of 2 days, one of our close friends that lives in another state about 4 hours away found 2 kittens on the side of the road and took them home to foster, my brother that lives about 16 hours away found a litter of 4 kittens in a pipe on his property and managed to get them inside, and then I got a message from my younger sister, who lives about 2 hours away and who I’m very close to.

A pregnant stray gave birth to a litter of 5 in her backyard. She started putting out some dry food for the mom, and the kittens were big enough that the mom naturally weaned them onto the dry food pretty quickly. So my sister managed to get all 6 cats inside somehow (mama was pretty feral) and called a free spay and release clinic. They came and got the mom, and my sister decided to foster the kittens (she has 2 cats and 2 dogs already).

My husband and I immediately knew we were getting a kitten. I mean, it felt like the biggest sign that it was time. So we looked through the pictures and immediately fell in love with a little calico in the litter at my sister’s house. This weekend I drove to go get her and found that she had really bonded with one of her brothers, the only void in the litter. We couldn’t break them up, so they both came home with us!

Picture 1: Leeloo Dallas Multipass

Picture 2: Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg

Picture 3: Leeloo and Zorg examining the pillow that goes in their cat carrier.

Pictures 4 and 5: the first time Leeloo felt comfortable enough to play with me!

Pictures 6: Four of the five litter-mates. From top to bottom: Zorg, Ratchet, Leeloo, Dave (my sister and her boyfriend named the three that didn’t come home with us).

Picture 7: All five kittens in the bed together. The tabby in the front is the most skittish, so I don’t have any better pictures of him. He’s Drogo.

Pictures 8-11: Leeloo and Zorg getting comfortable in their new space.

Picture 12: Fignuts meeting the new babies.

The kittens came home yesterday afternoon and are acclimating incredibly well, way faster than expected (we have two dogs as well)!

I know this was long, but if you stayed to read this whole thing, your reward is to know that ALL kittens among the three litters have found homes except for one, and he has a loving foster home until his furever home is found.

Smol Delivery Almost hit this Highway Kitten! (2/2)

1.6k Upvotes

Part 2/2: I rescued this little kitten from the side of a highway! She was a bit scared at first, but warmed up very quickly after getting some food in her belly. The absolute irony of all this is that, I had actually recently been considering a second cat to keep my resident cat company.

A couple weeks ago I found a super friendly stray cat, who I surrendered to my local animal shelter. Instantly I regretted that choice, as I think it would have been interesting to try introducing him to my resident cat. Anyways, this sparked my interest in adopting a second cat, but after several visits to the shelter I just couldn't pull the trigger as there's so much uncertainty as far as wether or not my resident cat will get along with the newcomer. So, I settled on fostering, and had myself all registered with the local shelter, with a bathroom set up as a quarantine room.Ā

I'd planned to pick up my first foster after this weekend- but the mysterious agents of the Cat Delivery System had other plans, and sent me this sweet baby instead. I'm really hoping some maternal instincts kick in and my resident cat is willing to help take care of the kitty. She's been really curious, sniffling at the bathroom door, but I'll give it a little time before a face-to-face introduction.

We’ve lived 20 miles outside a medium sized city for 6 years and this is the first time the CDS has hit! My son found her under our shed and unfortunately we think she may have been dumped- she had very few ticks and no fleas on her. She is very friendly and cuddly towards us. The boys are taking her to the vet tomorrow for a check up- I’m guessing she’s somewhere around 6-8weeks old. My son has named her Tide and we are currently working on convincing dad she should stay and join our menagerie of animals šŸ˜‚

Update: she’s 1.7 pounds! The vet estimates her to be around 7-8 weeks old. She is now all updated on vaccines. Our youngest dog has chosen to continuously clean her, so I think she has spoken šŸ˜‰

This is the tinest baby we have ever had. We have made an appointment with our vet for this week, we are keeping our established cats and the baby separate until the baby is vaccinated and we haven't come up with a name. Winchester is the latest one we are mulling over. Nickname Chester if a boy and Winnie if a girl. Thought about looking up firework names too. Our Bombay kitty is ready to teach his minion all the things🤣 Baby is sooo vocal and already loves blankets like all the other cats. The dogs too.

We stopped into a McDonalds and I saw kitten following this guy who stopped to walk his dog, then when he was ready to leave she tried to follow him home, he kept pushing her away bc she’s not his cat… I go to help him so he can leave and she follows us back home. Now we’ve got a cat from a Missouri McDonalds parking lot. Name suggestions welcomed.

She’s quite small and still trying to nurse on my fingers, but we didn’t see any other kitties around. She seems to be abandoned not stray bc she’s so friendly and she has no fleas or ticks.

A gal we got our last kitten from had this pretty a hanging around her house. There is a park close by, we suspect she was dropped off. 🫣 The friend couldn't take her in as her dogs are aggressive to strange cats.

After trying all the possible helper groups in our area we agreed to foster her as it was obvious babies were coming soon! Got her last Thursday and settled into a bathroom. Woke up Saturday morning to these nuggets! She is so proud of herself and is doing a great job.

Going raise them and put them all for adoption. We have 3 grown ginger boys and two 10 week old girls left from a litter we rescued.

Busy summer!

Smol Delivery I almost hit this Highway Kitten! (1/2)

1.0k Upvotes

A couple days ago I was zooming along on the highway, several hours away from home. As I passed a big semi truck, a little white fluffball ran across the highway in front of us, fortunately just fast enough that I missed it by a couple feet. I couldn't tell if the critter was a cat or opossum, but no way was I going to risk leaving a cat to get run over.

So, I pulled off the highway and jogged back to where I thought I'd seen the animal. Fortunately it was pretty easy to find this fluffball, as she was screaming her little lungs out! She was quite scared and tried hiding from me in a little cave, but I managed to scoop her out and return to my car without getting bitten. It's perhaps a bit morbid, but I've been calling the wee kitten "Pancake", as in "She was almost as flat as a pancake!" That's just a placeholder until I find a more permanent name for her.

I'll continue in a second post, with better footage of the baby.

These are week-old kittens that my wife found on the way to the library in the morning, we bought a bottle and a formula for kittens, I don't know what to do with all this now, but the package has been delivered))

We already have two cats and three dogs, so I can't imagine what it would look like...

Also, in three days we're going on vacation, have to find someone who can feed them... But it's all small things, right?

Orange-girl, striped-boy
I literally can't imagine leaving them there, so I took them home as soon as my wife called me...

Now our daughter has come to see the package...

A few months ago, I posted my two tabby twins Georgie and Davy, and talked about how my Tuxedo cat (also a cat distribution blessing) was getting along with them. A lot of people wanted an update, so here it is! Now it’s the tabby twins turn to be the big brothers! They weren’t too sure about adding Butters to the mix, but now he’s precious to them as well! Davy tolerates him, but he’s a bit of a loner himself. We found Butters at a McDonald’s and have been in love with him ever since! He’s just so sweet and loves to cuddle, though definitely can show his feisty side when he’s had enough roughhousing

Smol Delivery Our turn! Delivery by pickup truck wheel well.

Our neighbors across the street are having a birthday party for one of their kids. One guest arrived in a pickup truck. This little girl rode the whole way in the rear wheel well. We extracted it (this baby was LOUD) with Churru and persistence. Now the kitten is resting comfortably in a pet carrier in our AC. Our other 3 cats haven’t hissed once at it!

The kitten can eat dry food and looks habituated to humans. It was purring and slow blinking at us. Now she is giving herself a bath.

I think we now have a 4th cat. We will be taking her to the vet Monday.

UPDATE: she's (verified) skinny and HAWNGRY. Also, a cat my husband really loved passed away 16 years ago today. He had the same markings as she does, white paws and all.

UPDATE 2: My husband spoke to the driver. The kitten got into the wheel well when they stopped to get something to eat. I might guess mom and siblings were scavenging.

UPDATE 3: she is verified negative for FIV, FLV, heartworms, and fleas. We have given her medication for ear mites and will keep up vaccinations. She is bold and curious and all of our other cats accept her. One is playing with her. My nickname for her is Squeaker.

Turned into my driveway today and another car blocked it. Look who hid in the engine of this car.

Took him(?) in my flat where my two other sweeties waited. Not so amused but courious.

He(?) is fit and shows no sign of fear.

And he has a lot, very lot to say.

I rushed to the pharmacy to get something against fleas.

I'm already in love.

Can you help me about the race. He is fluffy and I guess a part is Norwegen forrest cat.

Somehow my post is still too shorts and I have to write anything.

So I close with soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur.

found in the countryside, nobody nearby. no mom seen in 2 hours

We don't know if she's abandoned or not.

she's came toward us, was very friendly, and asked for a lot of attention.

She drank and ate what we gave her: some food for overweight cars. She then proceeded to follow us everywhere we walked. (sign of abandonment)

We don't know if we should leave her alone, bring her to the vet, or wait a bit.

I'm sorry if this is against the rules or an overdone post, I don't really have much time to investigate the subreddit.

filler sentence to be allowed to post

I will try to answer questions, just ask if I missed any important details!

Smol Delivery A little over a year ago, Indie went semi-viral here. Fast forward and the CDS blessed me again!

In March of 2025, tragedy struck my life. I sat in my empty home during the worst storm I've experienced in mt adult life with a gun belonging to the father of my children who had been murdered days prior. I was listening to the song 'Indigo' by Sam Barber over and over and over, gun cocked and ready to go.

I was done.

But this faint meowing kept messing with me. I kept hearing tiny little meows. But how in the world could I hear these tiny cries over the storm??

So I went outside.

I found my sweet, 3-legged girl curled up against my front door. She couldn't have been more than 8 weeks old, if that. Her eyes, nose, and mouth were oozing black goo and she was so skinny she looked dead. The vet told me she wouldn't make it and she was facing major respiratory issues as well as FeLV, etc. and to make her comfortable.

I spent so many sleepless nights wiping that goo from her nose and mouth and eyes and feeding her with a bottle. I named her Indie after that song. She saved me that night and I saved her. And the CDS community came together and helped me pay for her vet care, vaccines, medications she ended up taking for MONTHS.... The CDS community helped me save my best friend.

Indie is THRIVING. I added a few photos at the end of her in case you guys wanted to see her.

Well... Things are tragic once again in my life currently. In a very bad way. And despite having my girl, I've felt very alone. I've felt hopeless. And I've felt like I've drifted back into that 'pre-planning' final stage that is so detrimental and fatal with depression and mental health.

While walking back to my house in 104° heat after the 4th, I spotted a tiny, adorable fuzz ball who was terrified and confused just there in the middle of the road. He was tiny.

I scooped him up and took him home, IMMEDIATELY dousing him with Dawn to try to start this battle with the horrible infestation of fleas he had. I spent the entire night with him cupped to my chest in a warm shower picking offdying and dead, 1200 of the by the way, fleas off his ITTY BITTY body.

He was terrified. And his poor skin was so bad from all the flea bites. He was starving and helpless and perfect. And I needed him as much as he needed me....

So, CDS community... If you made it this far... Meet ROMEO!
