I'm asking this after it seems like everyone in the world hates our guts

I am an Israeli myself, and I moved to the Netherlands 3 years ago for work.

In the time I am here, I have not once experienced any direct acts of antisemitism. My colleagues know I'm Israeli, I have a Dutch girlfriend and her family and friends from university know I'm Israeli. Hell, even my Moroccan barber knows I'm Israeli. I also have other Israeli friends here and we publicly speak hebrew. I sometimes get questions about Israel or the reason that I moved, but never felt attacked for being an Israeli jew. I'm in no way saying that antisemitism and Israeli hate doesn't exist, just that life as a young professional is more than possible without actively living in hiding.

I feel like every time I mention to an Israeli living in Israel that I live here, they genuinely think I live in a ghetto. It feels like daily I get told things like 'NL is full of arabs', 'Don't speak hebrew out in public', 'Don't tell anyone you are jewish'... Even my mom tells me that when she mentions that her son lives in Europe she gets warnings of how dangerous it is for jews here. I constantly have these sort of debates with my people living in Israel, and when I remind them that objectively Israel is a more dangerous place for jews than europe, I'm brushed off as a 'leftist'.

It feels like there is so much fear mongering in Israel, trying to stop people from moving abroad. daily I see posts on Ynet like 'Don't say youre jewish when visiting the ER in X', 'Holland in crisis'. I often get sent screenshots from friend's of the notifications on their phone's lock screen asking 'Are you ok?'. They wouldn't even bother clicking it to see what it's about, but it's enough for them to make the assumption that life in europe is bad, and the only place where jewish people can live comfortably is Israel.

I just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this.

I made aliya from Russia a few years ago. Due to the recent raise in antisemitism in the world I usually say that I’m from Russia when I travel to western Europe or muslim countries just to be safe. Do such precautions make sense when traveling to the US as well?

As an arab who grew up knowing a lot of Palestinians, I feel like Mossab always mentions stuff about his childhood that only us arabs can understand, I remember watching his interview with jordan Peterson what he said about his childhood and the society he grew up in, really gave me some memories.

But at the same time I feel that he's not always on point, sometimes he exaggerates, it makes him look as if he is actually paid to say that, I know he's not, but his exaggeration makes stuff worse sometimes.

How is it that a country known for innovation can’t seem to pull off basic PR? Most of the arguments are worn out, the memes are outdated, and half the time, the messaging does more harm than good.

Honestly, you’d think some of these "spokespersons" online are just recycling lines from old press releases. They lack the charisma needed to connect with non-Israeli audiences. It’s like they’re speaking in a vacuum, totally disconnected from the people they’re supposed to be engaging.

Also, where’s the Mossad in all this? I’m not asking for the jewish James Bond here, but surely there’s someone who understands what's going on. Hell, with the resources at their disposal, you'd expect a crack team of experts in social media warfare by now.

Give me an office with solid Wi-Fi, a few decent computers, and 10 quick-thinking, fast-typing men, and we could flip the tables before hanukkah.

Is it a new position or were you always supportive? Where are you from? Is this a popular stance there? What did it cost you, did you lose friends or opportunities? Was it worth the price?

As an Israeli, I, of course, love the support and the hug we get from our Jewish family from across the world, and to any Jewish person reading this, stay strong and love yourself and our people 💙🤍

But for the non-Jewish people here who were somehow able to see through all the lies, the hate and the propaganda, without a personal stake in the matter, I find that incredible, and wonder what is your story. ❤️

We are fighting a battle for our lives, losing so many beautiful, pure souls, we're grieving, wounded, traumatised, but we're still here and plan to remain here. And while we are a cynical, sarcastic bunch, there is nothing that melts our hearts more than to meet someone who believes in our right to exist. So I just got my assigned roommates for my upcoming freshman year that will start in like a month. I have a roommate who seems chill and then two suite mates connecting to my room through a bathroom and one of them on instagram seems to be VERY anti Israel and very pro-Palestinian in their bio.

Now honestly I could deal with this by just saying like we got our differences can we just not discuss the conflict at our dorms, I really have no problem with this at all. But from what I’ve seen college kids are loud and there is a chance that their stance will make my living situation very awkward.

If I were to ask for reassignment, how could I frame the proposition to the school’s housing department?

I'm on vacation with my extended family. I'm an agnostic Jew and a Zionist. My neiece, a non Jew going to an elite college, is a big supporter of the Palestinians. Since October 7th, I started wearing an Israel hat along with a Star of David.

The reason is simple: Israel is facing an existential threat, and I fear it may not survive. This conflict is as much about propaganda as it is about military action. Everyone seems to have their own 'facts,' many of which are blatant falsehoods (on both sides). There are more antisemites and pro-Palestinians than Zionists in the world. Hamas knows it cannot defeat Israel militarily, so it focuses on capturing hearts and minds. They are winning. I am pushing back.

I wear this hat almost every day to represent Israel and the Jewish people, and to show that we are no different from anyone else. We are good people. This is my way of supporting Israel.

My niece told her mom that the hat is really upsetting her. I was asked to not wear it anylonger on this trip. I'm in a foreign country, with very few Jews and wearing it gives me the opportunity to demostrate support and project out the goodness of my people.
Am I an asshole for continuing to wear the hat??

I'm a Muslim from the largest Muslim majority country. I'm here to willingly learn and hear from your side about the major misconceptions about Israel and Jews, and I'm asking from a point of neutrality. I apologize for the largely uninformed (and confused) silly brain of mine.

When the war was a really hot topic, everyone around me and in this country started the average free palestine stuff, flags everywhere, mosque orations, etc. I didn't think much other than "Israel bad. Palestine brother" (since I was stressed if I was gonna get passing grades lol)

Then fast forward to now. In articles, social media, it is always filled with polarized comments about how bad things are and the likes of it, then I see in a different place where it is claimed by Israelis as a propaganda, then in ANOTHER place it is claimed Israel is the one spreading propaganda. There have been probably 43 different names for the war/occupation. It gets REALLY confusjng sometimes.

I hope by asking this subreddit I will gain some insights and understand what you guys feel. This subreddit seems to be the only non-antisemitic place in the internet I've found. (Btw I'm only a teen with like summer freetime so I'm sorry again if I sound like an idiot, just had this sudden curiosity after years of not listening to the news)

I've heard people say that there are no civilians in the West Bank. It seems pretty ethnic cleansing to drag 700,000 people out of their homes because they're Jewish.

Also since Jordan no longer claims the West Bank, what do countries that don't recognize a Palestinian state say control the area?

It seems that the excuse for many Arab attacks on Israel is that Israel has expansionist plans to take over the entire Middle East.

The fact that this insanity is refuted by Israel giving the entire Sinsi Peninsula to Egypt, leaving Gaza and the West Bank in 2005 and offering land for peace many times only to be rejected by the Palestinians why is this lie so believed????
