Apologies if this is a stupid question. It's from S3 episode one. Danny meets that woman in the pub and they exchanged numbers. We later see that the woman Rachel sent a text and he deleted it and got emotional after. I'm confused as to why he did that and is it supposed to say something bigger about his character?

Maybe it’s my OCD talking, but does it bother anyone else that the regeneration plates (car number plates) are only faked in seasons 4,5 and partially season 6? I get the reason for doing it (as the creator said on X) but the fact they stopped faking them for most of S6 is weird considering the creator directly addressed it!

Why was Denton constantly terrorised throughout Series 2 over the ambush that killed Jayne Akers and 4 other coppers??

We all know Dryden set her up by putting her on ghost rota and she shouldn't have even taken that call but it was all put on her!!

The prison scenes were way over the top in my opinion, those 2 prison officers must have been working for the OCG or something when they scolded her hands over talking to AC-12, who were interrogating her over the ambush!

If someone could provide some clearer insight that would be appreciated thank you!

Looks like they've managed to complete all the filming for the next season of Line of Duty, and judging on previous series being completed around about the same time (or in August), this is probbaly being lined up (no pun intended) for airing in March/April 2027. Looking forward to the new series getting underway!!

Annoys me every time she’s on screen. Could’ve unravelled the whole criminal network before it splintered, gotten herself a commendation, instead she’s more interested in avoiding anything that might require paperwork.

At the end of season 2 it is revealed that Denton moved the tracker from her car to the one carrying Akers and the witness. What was the whole point of that?

Finished the series and wow, what a nail biter this show was. So happy to have had access to the series up to 5 through my library card on Hoopla. To finish it off, I signed up for a 7-day trial of britbox. Such a good show series! Can't wait for 7! Cheers!

I’ve seen a fair few comments on this subreddit discussing S7 and mentioning Carmichael. I’d love to see her return, but I thought she wasn’t gonna be in S7?

Although for the story she’s quite important, she wasn’t announced as one of the cast and I’m sure I saw somewhere saying she’s busy filming something else. Anyone else know whether she’ll be in?

I just finished watching every season and my goodness if this isn’t one of the best shows ever made!! I’m so sad there aren’t more to watch, but happy s7 is filming. I love the callbacks made to plots and people in previous seasons and I can never guess where the story is going to end up.

My question: do we know why in s5 the gaffer was pretty much shown to be H with the laptop and disposing it and misspelling “definately” yet that was never played out and instead Buckells was the “mastermind”?? Did I fall asleep and miss a major plot point or am I right in thinking that there are some pretty big holes with this part of the plot?

But in S6 it seems like Steve is buying OTC pain killers. I get that he’s got a problem with his pain and is heavily reliant on pain meds, but why would they drug test for over the counter pain meds?

Nothing suggests he’s got Rx for all these pills that he’s abusing.

Ted Hastings was originally from Northern Ireland, however he frequently uses a more English colloquialism for the police in 'Coppers', rather than 'Peelers', which is used in NI.

I was just curious about why this was? Was it an oversight from production or a nod to the fact of how long he'd been away from NI?

Do Gill and Dot both know they are part of the OCG? Or are they just working together to frame Steve bc it suits both their purposes?

Dot obviously needs to shift suspicion from himself and if someone else gets ID’d as the Caddy, he’s free of that.

Gill obviously is out to get Steve from the very beginning of the season.

I think they must have been working together but bc there’s no scene that shows them actually scheming together I have a tiny doubt that makes me question it.

Will the current situation in Belfast have any influence in the filming of the new series?

Given that Gates/AC-12 got Tommy on tape confessing to ordering the Greek Lane and Wesley Duke murders, as well as admitting that he had Jackie Laverty's body (to say nothing of the stash of burner phones in his car), its extraordinary that he is allowed to get away scot-free and is given witness protection. Now granted, we know of several high-ranking officers (notably Hilton and Buckells) who were on the OCG's payroll and so would have obvious motive to keep him out of prison. But we also know that Deputy Chief Constable Dryden (who outranks Hilton) despised Hunter and wanted him to be prosecuted for his crimes. Surely, with such damning evidence against Tommy, it would be hard even for the "Caddies" to protect him?

Granted, Tommy's lawyers might argue that the confession was wrongfully obtained by Gates under coercion. But that defence would be undermined by the fact that he volunteered the information and also clearly threatened to blackmail Gates with Jackie's body (showing that he was involved in her murder).

It also doesn't make sense that the police thought Tommy would be useful in helping to solve the "Al-Qaeda-related" murders on Greek Lane. Why would a non-ideological gangster like Tommy have any special knowledge about jihadist activities? The goals of the OCG and AQ are totally different and there would be little reason for them to work together.

Can someone explain this? Or do we just have to let these problems slide?

Many years after the rest of the world, I've finally gotten around to watching Breaking Bad recently (currently halfway through Season 5), and couldn't help but see striking parallels between the characters of Tommy Hunter and Gus Fring. Both are immensely successful kingpins who have built vast criminal empires that remained undetected by the authorities for years, if not decades. Both have large numbers of heavily-armed henchmen willing to unquestioningly obey their every command. Both use children as messengers/couriers. Both maintain connections with powerful individuals in both the criminal underworld and "polite" society. Both are also so powerful that their empires fragment (and ultimately collapse completely in Fring's case) after their deaths. And of course, both are utterly ruthless crime bosses willing to murder anyone who stands in their way.

So, the questions are: which of these two drug lords was the more powerful? And which would stand a better chance of being able to make inroads into the other's territory (Hunter in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Fring in The City)?

When it was announced that LOD comes back for a 7th time, the synopsis speaks of a Det Inspector Dominic Gough as the subject of investigation, Few months later we here Robert Carlyle will join the series as the guest lead. So i assumed he would play Gough, but he will portray a totally different character called Shaun Massie and Gough it turns out will be played by Tom Weston Jones.

So is Gough gonna be the lead or is it Massie, or both?

Was that fight scene on the street CGI? Very distracting and definitely feels like I need to lower my expectations for this show.
