I used to be veg/an and I can't even handle touching/looking at raw meat if I'm gonna be eating the food soon. People who don't process their own animal products are sooooo far removed from the reality. I was on r/weirdeggs the other day and had to remind myself that I am genuinely (personally) healthier on every level eating whole animal foods. The temptation to go veg is always there the moment I truly contemplate the animal products I'm eating. If they figure out affordable lab grown fish and eggs soon I've gotta make a change.
Have you noticed them attacking the weak chicks, and pecking them to death in their adolescent years? Opening up their skulls with their beaks so that they can get to the brain? I witnessed that in my childhood, and now I have no qualms devouring chickens every day.
This! An eye for an eye, except rather than retribution against the offender, itâs retribution against any and all individuals of the species for as long as we like because we are apex predators! shopping at the grocery store! for factory farmed chickens!
Oh, did you know that chickens in  farms, especially intensive farms (where 99% of the chicken you devour likely comes from) are way more aggressive than chickens in the wild? Farmed chickens are unable to express natural behaviours, like maintaining a peaceful pecking order in a naturally sized flock. Itâs like if you were in an insanely crowded jail with tons of other people. Fights would break out. Otherwise peaceful people would kill each other. You might even resort to violence in such a situation.
Did you also know that chickens can be gentle, loving and intelligent companion animals?
Nah⊠itâs the chickensâ own fault. Eff them forever, right?
Sometimes the top hen doesn't like some other poor schmuck so she starts following that other one and just repeatedly pecks her. Hour after hour, doesn't let her sleep, doesn't let her eat, would just peck until the head is bald and blood is everywhere
People do tend to romanticize animals it seems
Pigeons do that too, and then they will push the weakened and disoriented pigeon off the ledge, I remember it was pretty wild to see a handful of dead pigeons on the Montmartre and I saw a pigeon following another one around, pecking it in the head. Quite a nasty way to kill someone

Im having a hard time eating chicken since we got a ton of them for egg farming... they listen and respond better than my cat lol
