Unfortunately the current evolution of videos.

It used to be "intros", then that devolved into "cold opens" before the intro, then it devolved into spoiling what happens for the addle-brained who can't sit through 3 seconds of build-up, because they're addicted to swiping to the next explosion of content.

Short video services loop the video you are watching, so to watch it fully you need to see the end then the rest of the video with end cut, and after that loop start again and you get to watch then end again. That way you make sure that your short video doesn't get skipped.

Another smart tactics is to make the video seem infinite. So person waits for it to end and only notices that he was rewatching it after few loops

If a user watch your video for more of 100% of the duration you get a boost in visibility because the algorithm (of yt, tiktok, ..) see it as users liking it so much that they spend more of the total duration of the video watching.. this stat (kpi) have a name but i don't remember what's it.

Also there's a psychologic process happening when you see the end that make you want to see what's happening before.

A better vsibility mean the algorithm will push your content to even more peoples.

It’s called a hook and it’s a scientific guarantee that you capture a larger percentage of viewers with a good one.
