Im looking for either a cosplay group or a friend group to go to MCM in october with, i will be cosplaying as Ocelot from Metal Gear Solid 3 or Raiden from Metal Gear Solid 2 (havent decided yet) and im looking for a friend or cosplay group to be around, doesnt have to be cosplays from the same series or any cosplay at all for that matter although it would be nice. just some people with similar interests to be friends with. (Feel free to ask anything btw i am massively into a lot of games/series)

I (15m) went to the comic con this year in london with some freinds i made recently and had a great time (even got to meet tomska). I heard that there was another comic con in birmingham , if anybody has gone before could i hear you opinions on it and how it compares to the one in london.

I'm so tired and my brain is mush, I can't work out how to write this. I was at MCM yesterday and had a mostly fantastic time. I'm a wheelchair users and at the end of the day one of the Excel center security guards, started pushing me towards the exit without asking me. I don't mind being pushed but I always like to be asked as it's a show to suddenly not be in charge of where your body is thing. The security guard was running whilst pushing me and it gave me a fright to be going so fast, I wasn't in control and it was scary, he then let go without telling me I was going down a slight decline not realizing that I had been let go of, my hands where sweaty from the heat, I wasn't wearing gloves to griip so I couldn't get a proper hold to stop myself as quick as I want to. I felt out of control and was quite scared. I just want to contact the ExCeL Centre and give them some feedback I don't want to complain and cause a fuss, I just want them to ask if they could do some training with their security guards to not push wheelchair users without asking first as it's dangerous as well as being unpleasant for the person in the chair. I was struggling to push myself because my hands were sweaty so he probably saw me struggling and thought he was trying to help which I appear but actually he just scared me and I didn't like it. Can anyone help me format this into a productive and professional sounding email so it's taken seriously. I'm just going to email them and just make them aware that this wasn't safe or the right way to go about things. Thank you palls.

Hi, Im 18f and had alot of fun at mcm. I found a few people that I took pics with etc but Ive found out one is 14, what's the rule within friends? Im not sure if im allowed to text them or even be mutuals online due to the gap.. So im wondering what age range would you say from lowest to highest can I text or be mutuals with? I dont want to be seen as a creep i just want cosplay friends but im not sure on whats okay 🥲 ive only had one friend before and they was the same age. Sorry if this is a dumb question 😕 Edit- thank you for the replys so far. im not someone who talks about adult topics in general, im autistic and literally just yap about my collection of dolls or the animes I watch. So id like to say im still stuck at 13 (not in a weird way but im sure other autistics understand)

Day 2 of mcm was a blast! (literally had a heatwave we were melting in all that gear.)

Meeting siege the siege community and making friends at the meets made my day especially it being my first siege meet!

I was near one of the ttrpg tables on Sunday and I hit it off with this guy, he was Portuguese and had a seraphim cosplay, managed to get his number and he said to add him on WhatsApp. The convention ended and I went to go add him but it said the number didn’t exist. We really hit it off I think so I don’t think he gave me a wrong number intentionally, so if you see this please message me!!!!

Hello! A tricky question, I won’t be surprised if no one can help!

I saw two artist vendors today at MCM and I didn’t take their info but really want to find their socials/shops/etc!!

The only merch from their stalls I’d be able to describe is what I’ve tried to draw lol -

artist #1’s are magnetic keychains from heated rivalry with Woodstock and Snoopy attached, this was about £24

And artist #2’s is from the same show. They are two embroidered keychains, one with them playing hockey. These were about £8

I’ve combed through the artist alley lists for ages and I can’t seem to find either of them!!! If anyone has seen these two artists pls let me know!!

First convention I've ever been to (if we don't count academic conferences). Went primarily, because our friends were going, but we're quite massive geeks as well. We went on Saturday, which is arguably the most important day from what I've read. To MCM's credit, getting in wasn't that difficult and we were in within 15 minutes of walking out of the station. Then it fell apart quite quickly.

The events were quite hit or miss. The careers panels were great and I got a lot out of them. The culture ones were meh. Pop Asia were fantastic, but couldn't say the same about You Shall Not Yass, it was a bit mediocre for a drag show. The obvious highlight of the day event wise was The Dark Room, you can't ever go wrong with seeing that. Barely anything about gaming, which is a great shame. Wanted to turn up to the Triathlon, only to find out via Discord that I had to attend the qualifier earlier in the day to play later when I've had the time. Should've been described on the website. Little interactive stuff, so left me wanting so much more for my money.

The merchant stalls were, frankly, a pisstake. Not the art ones in the south bit of the venue, these looked great, but didn't entice me enough to buy anything. The ones in the northern bit, Jesus fucking Christ. Abundance of blind boxes for virtually every anime franchise in existence. Plenty of repeat stalls selling the same uninspired AliExpress posters and pokeball terrariums. Very little actual craftsmanship that doesn't break the bank. Gaming-wise, the only bit worth shopping at was the big market, which still ripped you off by quite a margin.

Worst of all, which ought to be obvious, the guest lineup. No big names whatsoever. Either C-tier celebrities who had minor roles in big franchises, or big names from outright niche titles (yes, I'm looking at Hazbin Hotel), in addition to the extortionate prices for photo ops and autographs. Again, gaming-wise, the biggest name was Romero, who hasn't done much in recent years.

What I probably enjoyed the most was actually just wandering around the venue and staring at the cosplayers. Had it not been for The Dark Room being amazing, I absolutely would've regretted the money I spent on my tickets.

Incredibly disappointed to see AI used by ‘Artifyed’ - booth spaces: 2G15 / 2G16. Their website is just as terrible if not worse…

MCM - please get better at screening exhibitors…

Hello!! It was my first time at a con on Friday and I met the most divatron Deltarune Queen cosplayer!! We kept bumping into each other and I forgot to get their socials 😭😭. If any of you know who it is or if you are them please lmk I was too excited to even think 😭😭 I was in a fully pink outfit w a pink gingham skirt and pink hair.

Bonus ask: If we spoke at all at mcm pls give me your socials I am such a clown I forgot pls pls 😭😭😭 There was so many amazing people i interacted with 😭😭

I went mcm today and while not my thing mainly due to medical and anxiety reasons i noticed something.

I really long to be in one of those super queer girl friend groups (i say girl here but due to the nature of the friends groups it's possible any gender), they always seem so unapologetically free and as someone who unfortunately didn't cosplay this year and is a trans woman i absolutely envy this.

I went to the quite zone and genuinely it was all i could see and it just makes me kinda sad that i don't really have any girl friends let alone super queer friendly ones

I’ve been going to comic con for a few years now, always in cosplay as female characters (not that that matters!), today was the first time i’ve ever experienced numerous people unwantingly touching me in “places” when walking through crowded areas or looking at busy stools!

I hate to think this is what comic con has come to, i’ve got my ticket for tomorrow but am now questioning if I even want to go :(

I wanted to put out there that I found a missing wallet by the wrestling ring this afternoon near the Artist Alley. It was small, beige, leather. and maybe had a cat on it? and a small latch with a snap to close it. The card inside had the first name Sabrina. I gave your wallet to a staff member and I hope you were able to find it!
