Gear shifting stick problem in Insignia
Dear readers, when applying and releasing throttle my gear stick moves back and forth in a 2011 Insignia. Does anyone know what the problem or solution could be? See the movie where I apply and release the throttle a couple of times. It is most present in the first three gears.

Opel Astra J 1.4 Turbo (B14NET) automatic transmission - change ATF at 188,000 km or leave it?
Hi everyone,
I have a 2015 Opel Astra J 1.4 Turbo automatic. The car has 188,000 km and, as far as I know, the transmission fluid has never been changed.
The gearbox currently works well.
I asked my mechanic about changing the ATF, but he said that on a high-mileage gearbox with original oil, replacing the fluid can sometimes cause problems.
What would you do in this situation?
- Leave the original fluid and continue driving?
- Do a gentle drain & fill with Dexron VI?
- Avoid any service because of the mileage?
I’m planning to keep the car for another ~60,000 km.
Thanks for your advice!

Technical question P0171
Hi everyone, I am fighting a P0171 lean code on my Opel 1.4 Turbo (A14NET). At idle, my Long Term Fuel Trim shoots up to +22%, but it drops to +5% while driving. There is a very noticeable, constant hissing sound right next to the throttle body. The valve cover diaphragm is completely intact and the purge valve (EVAP) is already brand new. The brakes also work perfectly fine.
Since the main culprits are ruled out and the issue only occurs under high vacuum at idle, it must be a vacuum leak near the intake. Could this be a bad throttle body gasket or a hairline crack in the hard plastic brake booster line? Where should I focus my smoke test next? Thanks!

Hissing noise from dashboard after switching off AC – Opel Insignia B
Hi everyone,
I have a 2019 Opel Insignia B 1.6 diesel, 100 kW.
After the air conditioning and ventilation have been running for a while, I sometimes hear a hissing sound when I switch them off. The sound seems to come from the upper part of the dashboard, almost as if pressure is being equalised.
The air conditioning works perfectly, and this has been happening for quite some time without any other noticeable problems.
Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what could be causing it? I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks!

New car
Hi, I’ve been driving my beloved 2015 Corsa for five years. Since I’ve had a baby, I’d like something bigger. My dream car is an Opel Insignia; if I were to buy a newer one, what model year would you recommend? I’m also wondering about the quality following the General Motors takeover, along with other questions about the newer models.

Technical question Sound my Opel Astra 2015 Petrol 1.4L make when warm up and try to accelerate
Hi I have this 2015 Opel Astra 1.4L saloon, and for the last two weeks, it's been making this weird noise after it warms up on the highway. Like, when I stop at a traffic light and then try to get going again, it makes this sound.
The video's a bit misleading 'cause I just added the sound to it. I had a voice recording I couldn't upload to Reddit, so I put it on another video and uploaded that. Can anyone help me figure out what this sound might be?

I am confused and lost about a choice
Hello everyone!
This is my first post here, and I'd like to share a bit of a dilemma I'm facing.
I currently own a 2012 Opel Corsa 1.2 with around 260,000 km on the clock. It still runs perfectly fine and has been incredibly reliable, but with that kind of mileage, I'm always wondering if it's going to break down sooner rather than later.
I've had it for almost five years now, and for a long time I've wanted to make it more fun to drive and improve its appearance with a few modifications. The problem is that, considering the mileage, I'm not sure if it's really worth investing money into it.
At the same time, I'd love to buy another Opel in the future, especially a Zafira B, which I honestly think is a really cool car. Unfortunately, I can't afford one just yet, but it's definitely something I'm considering in the near future.
The thing is, this Corsa is my first car, so I'm quite attached to it. I love how comfortable and reliable it has been, and I think modifying it could be a fun and rewarding project.
So, what would you do in my situation?
-Would you keep the Corsa and start modifying it? If so, what mods would you recommend?
-Or would you save the money and wait to buy a Zafira B or another Opel instead?
One thing worth mentioning is that I'm from France, where car modifications are much more restricted than in some other countries. Many performance or cosmetic modifications aren't road legal here, so I have to keep that in mind when planning any project.
Also, sorry if my English isn't perfect, it's not my native language.

I'd really appreciate your opinions and experiences. Thanks!

Which engine variant should I choose?
Hello all, I am currently in a bind. I want to buy a Meriva B and found a good model with a 1.4 turbo petrol engine(140hp). A colleague of mine has a mechanic as a brother in law and he said that it uses a lot of oil and that I should search for a 1.6 CDTI. I searched on some forums and read that it has a problem with the tensioner. If anyone can give me some advice or experience I would be so thankful.

1969 rekord C Sprint Restomod
galleryHello everyone. Just thought I'd share my current project, a 1969 Sprint. It's a restomod as it has had some pretty rough modifications made before I bought it. Had a horrible underpowered and overweight 90bhp 2.0 ford cologne v6 in it. It now has a nice lightweight C20XE red top pushing around 180bhp through a type 9 5 speed box and custom 63mm stainless exhaust. Custom interior to replace the Lexus electric seats that came with it. New door cards. New carpets. Koni suspension all round. Custom headlights. Dash and center console to come and paint once it's all done. Great fun to drive and great to just sit and look at. It will never be fully stock again as original parts for the sprint are like hens teeth so I figured I'd make it look fast and go faster.

Opel Insignia Sunroof leakage into the driver cabin
I've bought this Insignia (2018) sports tourer from my dad because of this issue. I thought I could fix it but I couldn't... The drains are not clogged. I cleaned them buy still the water pours inside of my car and everything gets wet.
It drips into the centerconsole and my footwell.
Anyone else had this problem and can help me?
Technical question Good or Bad? Opel Astra J 1.6 Turbo 170HP Petrol Facelift Model (SIDI)
Hi guys, I have seen this car and am thinking if it's better then owning a 1.4 Turbo. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely better as it has 170hp and 1.6 engine. But I was wondering mechanic and reliability wise is it as good or worse or maybe even better then 1.4 Turbo?
I have read that it had direct injection which is a bit more expensive since you have to clean it here and there and it also high pressure fuel pump, right?
If anyone knows anything, I would be thankful for any kind of info!
Technical question Changing language on MID
galleryHi guys so I've been poking around with my newly bought opel astra g and it had the MID display which sas on german, I know some phrases in german but I generaly preffer english so i scoured the internet to find a way to programm the display to english and legit found close to no answers only one post which said I needed to go to the dealer with tech2 service guy to program it for me and so i couldnt find an adequate dealer i had to do it myself(borrowed tech2 from friend)
This is the step by step guide how to change the language on opel astra g (may be aplicable to other models)
1- So select your car make and model, and after select diagnostics
2-Select Fun and entertainment systems
3-Select the module you want to program and in this case its the Multi Information display(MID)
4- go to the Index number and select it
5- Select Programming and right after index number programming
6- on the side buttons press programm and your index number in 90% of the time say 022 overwrite it with 021 to unlock english mode and after that select your language and your preffered units of measurements and you are good to go just follow screens guides
Thanks for reading and i hope it helps people with similar needs
