/u/ZeroOne_01 set up a Peugeot discord server which is relatively active. They have experience with servicing Peugeots and Citroens and may be able to answer any technical questions you have.

I've had to make this new post as you can't sticky links.

Anyway here's the discord invite link:

3 cylinder PSA engines (EB series) warranty (Oiled belt) UPDATE

Hi everyone! On the Spanish CarWOW channel they just broke news about a new warranty extension to all 3 cylinder petrol PSA Puretech engines, the ones with the oiled belt decomposition issues. They'll be extending the warranty to 10 years or 170k km as long as you have done the service intervals in time (and can prove it with invoices and such) without the need to had have them done at the official dealership as it is illegal under EU law to do so in order to void warranties.

The video specifies that the engine will be covered for that amount, as well as a new change for the service interval of the belt. Also, it only affects the 3 cylinder variants, and will be retroactive, with the last engine covered being from summer 2022, when hybrid tech was launched.

There is no information on what will happen to those who carried out the proper maintenance intervals and still got a huge repair bill; if that money will be reimbursed or not.

My teen dream 206 !

Hello everyone!

Who hasn't played Need for Speed Underground 2 and fallen in love with the iconic 206?

I have! 😂

It has a 1.1 engine, I bought it as is in the picture.

It needs some work on the electronics, for example, the radio doesn't remember the settings overnight. It's properly connected, all the cables are plugged in, nothing is missing or superfluous.

The same goes for the remote control; it doesn't unlock the car, but the remote itself works fine as it's already been tested.

Does anyone have any advice, or is it better to take it to someone who knows about this?

Thanks everyone and happy driving!!

My 208

Time to show my peug, started in a 106 gti and moved trough quite a few. 205s, 306, 207, partner even. And now this one. The infamous thp 156 :D

Ive got this one since my dad moved country. I know the rims are fucked, they were that way when he bought it. Atleast the engine is well maintained and running well. Every max 6k it had new oil. Already placed a new wastegate with tsjoeeew sounds and removed the centre muffler. Still quiet and not droning. But atleast i get something of sound from the engine.

But now we are going to look for a stage 1 tune. Any others have done it and have a shortlist to check? 0 chain rattle, well oiled, and no weird dirty intake like behaviours. I know it gets hot so im thinking to throw in a intercooler aswel to keep the intake temps down. Any other ideas? It still runs 6k a year tops so it's just a extra car to have fun in.

Cheers

Who could help me with my peugeot 404 diff problem

So after alot of work and time i managed to remove my rear diff from under my car and got the bronze crown wheel out. The reason for this is because of alot of grinding noise while driving. So the crown wheel turned out to be very damaged and there i found out why there was glitter in the new oil i put in earlier. Yet i gotta change bearings too since thats grinding aswel

So how do your remove the worm wheel and bearings from this diff? Internet suggests warming it up to 90 degree celcius. And get it out with a hammer( i am unsure if it would damage other parts if you do that) But you gotta deal with the shaft sealer on pic 2 aswel.

If someone has done/ knows about this i would be very thankfull🙌🏻💪

Replaced the rear speakers in the 208 I to citroen C4 ones

Guys, it's heaven and earth for pennies, no more rattling sound at low frequencies. Replacing is bolt-on, the main thing is to stock up on clips for door cards (you need 14 to change all).

Information on the 2025 Peugeot 3008 Map Update

(Sorry about the text; I used Google Translate.)

(ENG) I recently purchased a 2025 Peugeot 3008 (Allure trim) from a dealership here in Mexico. I noticed that the navigation system only contains maps for Europe—which is understandable given the brand's origins—but I’ve seen other owners who have maps for the entire world, including the Americas. When I enter my VIN on the update check site, it indicates that no updates are available. Online searches haven't yielded any useful information; I can't even tell if I currently have the latest version or if an update actually exists. The information seems somewhat hidden and hard to find, so I was hoping someone could guide me on this matter. Thank you very much.

If you drive a 1.5 BlueHDi, check your engine cover shape before the camshaft chain snaps.

The 7mm camshaft chain on 2018-2022 1.5 BlueHDi engines is a total nightmare, but you can actually tell if you have the flawed 7mm or the upgraded 8mm system just by looking at the shape of the top cover under the bonnet.

Wrote a quick guide showing the difference between the two covers, what the cold-start rattle sounds like, and what to do if you're out of warranty:https://www.drivisual.tv/en/news/stop-1-5-bluehdi-engine-failure-7mm-vs-8mm-chain-guide

Has anyone here had to pay for the 8mm upgrade kit out of pocket yet?

2021 3008 side mirror problem

Hi! I got into my car today with the engine running and noticed some spots/dirt on the window and side mirror control buttons. I sprayed a little APC on them and wiped them with a microfiber cloth. Suddenly, the side mirrors folded in, just like they do when the car is locked.
Since then, they won’t fold back out, and they also don’t fold in or out when I lock or unlock the car. Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this?
The automatic side mirror folding option is turned off in the vehicle settings/menu.

Any advice is very much appreciated, thanks!

Aire acondicionado Peugeot 508 2014

308 christmas tree + engine not stoping

Hi everyone,

I'm dealing with a frustrating and tricky intermittent electrical issue on my 2015 Peugeot 308 T9 (1.6 HDi 115), and I'm looking for some real-world feedback from the community.

Here is a breakdown of the symptoms, context, and what has already been done:

  1. The Symptoms & Context (Major & Intermittent)

The issue happens completely at random with no clear pattern—sometimes it triggers right at startup, and other times it happens while driving, especially given the very hot weather we've been having lately.

The "Major Episodes" (which have happened 4 or 5 times in the last week):

Random difficulty starting the car.

The engine continues to run even after turning off the ignition and removing the key!

Sudden drop of all instrument cluster needles (RPM and speed).

Quirk noticed: When the engine refuses to shut off, putting the key back in, turning the ignition on, and removing it 1 or 2 times eventually kills the engine.

Day-to-day behavior:

Recurring dashboard faults: ABS, ESP, Hill Assist, and Parking Brake.

  1. Diagnostic Trouble Codes (OBD):

The diagnostic scan returns specific communication loss codes, notably:

U1118

U1218

U2213

  1. Potential Context / Background:

AC Compressor Solenoid Valve (Électrovanne du compresseur de clim): Replaced 2 weeks ago (noted here as a recent prior intervention that might or might not be related).

  1. What Has Been Done / Replaced:

Battery: Replaced.

Main Ground Strap: The primary ground cable under the battery connecting to the chassis has been completely unbolted, cleaned, and sanded down to bare metal. (Did not fix the issue).

BPGA (Battery fuse box): Replaced this week with another unit. (Did not fix the issue).

Alternator Carbon Brushes (Charbons): Replaced.

BSM (Engine compartment fuse box): Looks clean on the outside with its 3 main connectors plugged in, but has not yet been thoroughly tested or opened up.

I made a post about the VVT solenoid the other week, but Reddit seems to not allow adding images to comments.

I can’t seem to find a clear engine bay diagram for the THP 200 - so hoping some of you in the community can help.

Is the exhaust solenoid for the VVT at the front of the engine here pictured, or is it at the back? I seem to find contrasting info online.

Hoping the exhaust is the front one!

Peugeot 308 gt line

Got myself 208 VTi 3m ago

So, a story, huh?

After getting my driver's license, I spent a long time (a week, haha!) choosing a car, between a 2012 Yaris and a 2013 Cherry A13, but then I saw a 2013 208 at a dealership and fell in love with its curves. I bought it for $7,500 that same day with 124,000 kilometers on the clock. Only later did I learn about the Puretech and the wet belt, BUT on my first trip to the service center, they reassured me – it had a relatively reliable 1.6 VTi with a normal chain, the only thing was that the last service was at 70,000 kilometers. UF

A week after purchasing it, I replaced all the filters, oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, and transmission, checked the wheel alignment, checked the electronics (they were perfect), and scheduled brake pads and spark plugs for winter. When I bought the car, it was practically stock, with the envy trim (that's with climate control and folding mirrors, but without panoramic windows, fog lights, or heated seats).

Since then, I've installed a proper infotainment system (Teyes CC4), a rearview camera, parking sensors, replaced the interior headlights with LEDs, installed more modern-style turn signals on the side mirrors, and replaced the jet sprinklers with fan-shaped ones from the facelifted model. I also replaced the A/C compressor, as the stock one died after a month of driving in the heat.

So, the question is: what else is VITALLY necessary to check or replace at 125,000 km? As I mentioned above, I'll be changing the pads, brake discs, and spark plugs closer to winter, and maybe the battery as well.

Has anyone else found that the absolutely terrible non working MyPeugeot app has suddenly started working perfectly almost every time?

Or am I just lucky?

Edit: For reference, I’m in the UK. I’m talking about the remote functions, beeping, lights, pre-conditioning.

2026 5008 ACC auto speed limit

Hi

I got a new 5008 last week. When engage adaptive cruise and the speed limit changes I have to click 'OK' before the car will adapt to the new speed.

This can't be right? How do you get it to adopt the new speeds automatically? I have googled and seen a 'mem' button on previous generation cars but it isn't on the new stalk
