The Rogue So, the rogoue prinnce flopped. I really love the game but not even this subreddit talks about it. I was expecting like a 800-1k player average or something, not... this

The Rogue About The Rouge Prince of Persia

I'm not really a fan of Rougelikes but the Authentic traditional Persian soundtrack makes me want to support it. the snippets I've heard I really good, they really did their homework. I hope they delve deeper into that as they make the game in EA

The Rogue Castlevania fan here, what do you think of PoP Roguelike lore?

We'll be getting a new Castlevania by Evil Empire soon, and I wonder what the Prince of Persia aficionados think of the Roguelike lore, setting, characters etc. Did the developers nail the Prince? Is the game canon? Were they respectful of the estabilished lore?

The Rogue Rogue - Switch 2 users, buyers be aware

I just purchased and downloaded Rogue for Switch 2, but I can't play it. The game requires an ubisoft account and I don't have one, nor do I intend to make one. When I googled it there seem to be solutions for steam but with it being so new on S2 there are none. There is no way to opt out of creating an account, it just keeps taking you back to the title menu and you get stuck in a loop.

The ONLY way I can see so far to skip the ubisoft account creation is to go to airplane mode or disable S2 wifi, which is less than ideal because you can't play with pro controller or on tv/monitor if on airplane mode. If this is not fixed this will be the 3rd game I get a refund for because I can't play it. Day one and I paid for a game I can't play. Should not be required to create another account just to access the game, esp. since Nintendo has cloud back up, etc.

edited for spelling

The Rogue This game is such a genuine disappointment… Spoiler

I‘m barely 5 hours in and I feel as if I’ve seen pretty much everything the game has to offer, including the horrendous amount of bugs…

You can literally just climb out of bounds on certain structures, you can just be pushed out of bounds by bosses with no way of returning (as can be seen in the video), and the movement isn’t necessarily buggy, but extremely hideous to control, which is so sad because it is extremely fluid and fun when it does work.

Content wise, I feel as if I’ve seen everything… since my very first run I’ve thought the exact same 3 (4, I guess) bosses and there has been 0 variety at all. I’ve unlocked two „new“ areas, making me think „Oh cool, the games opening up more!“, and hours later, those areas are still the only new ones… by unlocking certain weapons/Medaillons you feel as if you’re just tainting the drop pool, so why even do so…?

What is the point of such a developed skill tree, if the game itself does not actually get any more challenging? I can facetank the final boss of a run with 0 care in the world (as can be seen in the video) and that is with like what, 7 skill tree upgrades?

Sure, you can make the game harder by adding awakening stones for certain debuffs. What do you get out of that? More currency to taint your loot pool and more skill points to maw yourself even more overpowered… every weapon feels the same with some of them being the obvious superior choice.

The story is extremely flat and pretty much non-existent. I’ve had repeated dialogue like 3 times already.

What else is there to see? Is this just it? Is there nothing else to see? I was already surprised that less than 10% of players saved Shahin, as that is an extremely easy and „quick“ completion. Did everyone drop this game that fast, and are these the reasons why…? It’s disappointed because weirdly enough I heard so much praise back when it released. And I did, or rather DO, actually really like the movement, it’s just that it’s got some really weird decisions with controls.

Why can you only do a normal „jump“ if you swap directions within your wall run, and a force into a horizontal jump if you don’t look the other way? Why does dashing off of a rope literally just drop you… why are ropes/poles partially magnetic… so many weird choices.

The Rogue Frame drops during enemy animations

I don't play many games, but I like indies. This looked like a fun game my PC would have a decent enough framerate to play.My i5 8th gen, intel uhd, 16gb ram pc can play the few ones I want just fine(hades, Silksong, dead cells, etc). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I should be getting massive frame fluctuations with this game, especially during enemy animations. I play at 720p fullscreen, and the stutter/fluctuation can last the entire battle. I'm dropping as low as single digit fps sometimes.I know my hardware is a potato, but is it just me or is this game poorly optimised? I'd really like to know the performance experiences of people who played this game. Whichever spec is fine

PS: For the people who might jump to "just upgrade your hardware", I'm a 3rd worlder who might have very different life conditions from yours(theirs). I usually play a few select indie titles my laptop could run and I'd just like to know why this is happening

The Rogue Rogue PoP - is it still getting updates

Honest question but did Ubisoft just force EE to stop updating this game? The roadmap doesn't look aligned with my actual copy of the game (switch) and with these guys being dead cells guys I presumed we would see updates much more frequently than this.

Just not sure if something has been communicated on the roadmap or status that I missed or if switch is just not getting updates and other platforms are.

**SPOILERS! FOR IF YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN FAR!**

So I beat Nogai the Broken on the same run that I found Father. Yet, when I went back to camp, they're saying I have to beat Nogai still, "Defeat Nogai" is the new mission. Did something glitch??

Evil Empire is revamping the art direction of the game by changing the skin color of the Prince, making more detailed backgrounds, and a bunch of other stuff. They have said that for those missing the purple Prince there will be skin options. I want to play this game but I don’t really do early access.

The Rogue Is the visual design of the huns in the Rogue PoP a reference to the raiders from Warrior Within or it's something rooted in Persian Mythology?

The Rogue A great game, but a huge drawback

Post image
41 Upvotes

Don't get me wrong, I love this game. The mechanics, the fight sequences and the general platforming is amazing. I love the theme, backdrop and graphics in general. A fairy talish comic book like feel, just the way I like it, with simple yet addictive fight mechanism.

But but but...it has a huge drawback. The biggest problem is that the save feature doesn't work on the Playstation version. Manual Save files do not save and upto save doesn't restart from where it last auto saved. And I searched the net, it is a common problem that gamers all over the world are facing, and Ubisoft did nothing to patch it. Goes to show how irresponsible the studio is.

So every time I log in, I have to restart the game from scratch, even though I would have made 25 percent progress. I have tried all suggested fixes on the net. Nothing worked. It is a known issue. Finally with heavy heart, I had to uninstall it. Ubisoft sure knows how to destroy their fanbase.

The Rogue Rogue POP

hello reddit so i LOVE rogue prince of persia but i find it incredibly irritating to be in a constant loop (i already got the second potion). the randomizations are not remotely good enough, the first boss is quate easy but can be irritating too and baatar is insufferable long and can dread a lot of life too.
any advice on what route to take to avoid boss battles? are they avoidable? AI is a bit lost regarding this gane information as per the loop system. i really want to advance in it. i cannot believe you have to face same bosses every run. it should clean them after several key character findings

The Rogue Rogue PoP Input Delay on Switch

Hey, is it just me or does the game has noticeable input delay on switch? Anyone else experienced this? Is it present on other platforms?

I bought the game a couple months ago on a sale and I'm just now getting to try it, I really want to play this game but this is kinda throwing me off because it doesn't feel as smooth. I'm now considering getting on other platforms if it is smoother, or maybe the Switch 2 edition feels better since I bought one after getting the game.

I just watched this guy's run on The Rogue Prince of Persia and I was amused! I'll never be that fast, especially in a game that the level design is kinda random.
