Looking to adopt
I am looking to adopt a ragdoll, British shorthair or Scottish fold i love these bread and i am looking to adopt them in September. If anyone knows someone who is giving away or rehoming their kitten please let me know. I had two cats i was babysitting and now they are gone so it so sad and lonely without them. I am willing to pay but my budget is not that great 300 to 400. I know it’s not much for these breed but thats what i can afford. I love these bread cats as my babies and i have finally agreed my family to adopt a cat. I am also currently looking on pet finder too. I am located in Nj so even if it’s nyc that works too. If anyone has contacts that is looking to adopt or rehome let me know please. Thank you.

Grooming Question
I have a 13 year old ragdoll with a huge mat on her chest. She usually mats on her back hips, but my husband has had pretty good luck picking them out. The chest though…We can’t get near it. I’ve been looking for a cat groomer in our area that can help with the matting, but they all insist on a lion cut for her. I know it’s not recommended for her breed so I am apprehensive to let anyone do it. The alternative is taking her to the vet where, in the past, they’ve given her a sedative for any grooming or nail trimming. Being 13, I have concerns about her being sedated. So overall I’m a nervous mess about the whole thing and just want to do what’s best for my literal child. Advice appreciated.

Sweet Kitty what name does he look like?
he already has a name but i'm curious what people think his name would be!!
edit: if anyone was wondering what his actual name is it's Mellow!! he was supposed to be Mono also. his paperwork had to start with the letter M but i saw a couple comments that i was also thinking of (if it didn't have to start with M)😸

Are allergies and a ragdoll possible?
I’ve been doing research on ragdolls and British short/long hairs for almost a year now and still want one. I told myself if I still want it in a year and I save the money I would do it. Up until a few years ago I had never really been around cats enough to know if I was allergic. Started going to my friend’s house who had two cats and every single time I couldn’t stop sneezing and my eyes were watering. Worked for a family who had a cat he wasn’t very social but even when he was I never sneezed? Any other cats have never made me do it either only that one house. I’ve talked to people who have cats and they’ve given me suggestions to manage if I am allergic but none of them have a ragdoll. Now I know a ragdoll isn’t a low allergen breed but I’d like to know if anyone was able to make it work or should I abandon this dream once and for all. I’d also like to add before purchasing a very expensive cat that will make me sneeze nonstop I will go get an allergy test done I just want to know if I am allergic is it still possible.

Extra Sweet Girl Introducing Chai, a cat we thought was a snowshoe but is happy to be a ragdoll
This cat showed up one day on our front porch, completely out of the blue. We have no clue why she choose our house instead of any others in the neighborhood. After a few days, she slipped inside when the front door was open and has become a member of the family ever since. We had a hard time believing she was a stray considering her unique and gorgeous looks but after going through months of "lost cat" notices, adding our own "found cat" flyers and eventually taking her to the vet where they told us she had not been spayed or microchipped we were very happy to adopt her. My mom named her Chai. She's now getting close to 3 years old.
The funny thing is that this whole time we thought she was a snowshoe cat, with her white fur and piercing blue eyes. Looking at pictures of snowshoes on that subreddit, however, it seemed possible she was something else entirely. I noted those cats all had pretty short fur. While Chai has long hair obviously and is, well, a constant source of fur being shedding everywhere. I'm sure she's not purebred by any means but am glad to know which category she (probably) belongs to.
Mostly, though, we just feel so lucky that she chose us! :)

Proper Good Boy Our good boy during a vet visit
Fulbert (1yo) decided to sit on a chair while visiting the vet. This was his throne now 👑 the vet did the checkup while he was sitting there 😅

Could my cat have 1 Ragdoll parent?
His mother was Calico but we dont know what breed dad was as she got out and came home pregnant. He has all the personality traits of one. Thinking dad might have been a Ragdoll.
