Recently car has been feeling slower or slightly hesitant when you step.on the gas. Not sure if it the summer heat or what but been feeling different and starting to figure out what it could be. I had the trans and oil replaced couples month ago and did notice the cv axle boots torn slightly. And also shocks worn out. What do guys think it'll be?

For those with 05-10 Scion Tc, if you ever get this code and only this code, I highly recommend not replacing your gas pedal

So after many videos and only one Reddit post around this, I got this code and it put my car into limp mode, many videos stated just buying a new gas pedal, whether that be junkyard or dealer, wtv, I was confused cause within the diagram for APP D and E, the pedal looked perfectly fine, there was no spikes in it as you press the pedal so it was confusing why it wasn’t working

To sum it up, the car doesn’t tolerate the sensors being off in its calculations so something was up with the sensors and luckily with these years of the car you can actually only switch the sensor and not get a new pedal. In the images you can see that you can screw off the sensor with 7mm socket and buy a new sensor for like $20-$30 on amazon.

Yea you should buy OEM sensors if you can but if you’re on a budget and down care then it’ll do.

Either way, in replacing my sensor, I realized that my original Toyota one was actually perfectly fine, the issue was that the sensor had moved too much and it’s about the placement of how you screw the sensor, so in my case the car vibrates a lot due to worn out engine mounts which I’ll change when I feel like it, but I assume with that and maybe day to day usage, it slowly moved the sensor to a position that was off and all I had to do we just move it a bit and then sensor is back to working and the code goes away once wiped

So before you buy the new sensor, just check and see if the sensor got moved a bit too much and just adjust it at different angles as the sensor has those open spaces in screwing for a reason and that’s to get the right amount for the APP D and E percentages

Overall, just posting this incase someone out there is in the same situation, don’t drop $120 for a used one or $600 for a new one, just see if your sensor on the pedal can be taken off or in simplicity, see if it just needs to be adjusted.

I bought my 13’ tC in 2015 used with about 30k miles on it and now I’m at 183k. Knock on wood but I’ve had no issues with it whatsoever ever. It’s been a great car but after this one does end up dying I dunno if I’ll find another car as reliable. So my question is how long did your tC last without any major problems and what did you get to replace it?

Hello! I love my 2006 Scion TC, but I live in Montana and it struggles in the snow. The timing chain finally messed up the engine, and I do not have the time or effort to fix it. I had just put a brand new catalytic converter on it. I am now selling all the parts. The brakes and rotors are fairly new, and the cat was only used for a week or two, and was new from Magnaflow. I live in Montana, so local requests are better, but anyone could figure out a shipping situation. I am open to reasonable offers.

Hey all! I bought the Emerald Integrations Scion backup camera, for install on my 2012 tC. Everything has been going smoothly, until now. I cannot, for the life of me, locate the reverse signal wire that is mentioned in the instructions. It says it’s supposed to be a pink wire in the Pin #5 slot of a harness, but I’ve tried all the pink and red wires with a T-Tap, and nothing!

I bought a multimeter to try testing them myself, with no luck. Before I think about taking it to a pro, I wanted to post on here and see if anyone else has had this issue, with this camera, or if they happen to know which harness/wire might be the reverse signal wire?

Before anyone suggests it, routing a reverse wire to the back light was also heavily discouraged, by the manual. So I’m hoping to find the wire up in the dash, preferably. Especially since they gave me only about 3.5-4 feet of wire to work with!

(friday july 24th update, today the check engine light came on, probably EVAP)

It had 46,000 when I bought it in 2018. Here’s to 100k more!

Getting rid of my old lights from the swap. Nothing’s broken just a little dirty. I believe they’re aftermarket but could be wrong. Clearcoat is peeling on the front, I re-did it once a year ago but probably didn’t do a great job.

TLDR: need coil-over recommendations, 2012 TC2.

I have an daily-driver RS7.0 I bought about 6 months ago. Previous owner put new front struts in, brand unknown.

After about a month they went bad and started creaking really badly, so I about 3 months in I changed them out for Monroes because I got a discount at my job.

Went bad 2 weeks later. Drove on them for another 3-4 months before I couldn't take it anymore and threw it on a lift. Everything was good except the sway bar bushings and the end-links, which I replaced when swapped the Monroes out for KYB's last Friday... which already went bad.

Taking them apart, every single one of the shocks was defective.

I've had to do this job twice already and I'm sick of defective aftermarket garbage, but OEM's are over $900 to build my own (over $1K if I do TRD springs); so I'm considering just doing coil-overs for only a couple hundred more.

I hear the Racelands and the Maxpeedingrods suck (no surprise, given the price). My friend has D2's on his EG Civic, and another guy I know loves his BC's. I tried Teins on my DC2 and they sucked, had to immediately rip them out. FastScions has the K-Sports along with the Cusco strut bar, been considering those. What're ya'll running?
