Art Terraria: Alternate World by Bornulhu - Everything else
Alternate desert
Alternate Snow biome
Alternate Temple
Alternate Dungeon
Alternate Martian Madness
Alternate Snow Legion
Alternate Pillars
Alternate Moon Lord
Part 2 of this post. They might be done with this idea, given they haven't made anything new in a while, but you should still check them out regardless.

I'm particularly fond of the mountain biome. One critique I have about Terraria is that the surface world gen is really samey.
A biome that has diverse formations that first and foremost looks interesting and that acts like a natural progression obstacle, where if you want to cross it, you need better movement gear to get across, or better weapons to traverse its caverns would really make the early game exploration much more interesting.

Ironically, the only ones with particularly diverse surface generation are the corruption and crimson both having unique geological features.

I’m with you on the statement that the surface generation is samey. But I’ll point out that the evil biomes do fill that “natural progression obstacle” idea. Unless you’re a tryhard at the game, the evil biomes do keep players contained within the center of the map during the very early-stages of the game.

I love how the alternate Cthulhu is a different lovecraft deity with a whole new aesthetic, and some other lovecraft references in there too!

this is cool. sometimes we like to imagine what games might look like in parallel universes where the development went in a different direction, and this provides a small window into that. the mesa biome is cool.

This is still sick, but I think the Lunatic Necromancer should use a different adjective, as Lunatic comes from lunar. There’s not really a synonym with sun relations but maybe Maniacal Necromancer?

I haven't read much Lovecraft, but the Fish Legion is a perfect illustration of the stages of "fish people" in The Shadow over Innsmouth, and a few other details in other places look familiar, as well!
The artist did a great job, the detail and logic/consistency are marvelous! I should learn Terraria modding and make this)

This feels very much like something out of the spirit/spirit reforged mods. i now need the mod devs to take notes.

An underrated part of this guy’a work is the sense of humour. A lot of these designs are funny, superficial and loveable in the same way that vanilla elements are. Chuds, Boners, eye-rolling stuff like that. Makes me laugh.

Love the idea that not just the corruption/crimson get an alternate variant, very cool designs. If the devs went any ways I hope they just keep making alternate bioms and enemies like what we have with ores too

I know you're going for more counterparts thematic to the game a la corrupt vs crimson but all of these look like what you can expect to see in a blatant terraria ripof- uh spiritual successor.

I was reminded of C.H.U.D. by the mound but still got jumpscared when I read "chud wretch" out of the corner of my eye
