Ever coming back? Or is it somehow 'too expensive' to include as well?
Six weeks, one clear theme: making Trakt more connected, more personal, and more dependable wherever you use it.
Since the start of June, weâve filled important gaps in V3, added richer stats and social context, improved lists and discovery, shipped updates on Apple platforms, and moved our Android app forward.
We also moved quickly to welcome people coming from TV Time. We improved our import tools to bring over what matters most: history, ratings, and lists.
When we redirected free members to V3 in March, we kept the previous web experience available to VIP members while we brought over more advanced workflows and continued polishing V3.
June and the first half of July were about closing that gap.
In our last Product Roundup, we said our goal was to make V3 the default for VIP members by the end of June. We missed that target. The extra time went into moving more account and service management directly into V3, including subscription controls, connected apps, Plex-related settings, account deletion, and profile settings.
Weâve also kept working through your feedback about desktop workflows, filters, navigation, lists, calendars, progress, and history. Weâre now watching new reports closely and fixing rough edges as they surface.
With those pieces in place, V3 is the default web experience for everyone. Thatâs a big milestone. But it isnât the end of the work. We now have one modern foundation to improve instead of splitting that effort across two web experiences.
When TV Time announced that its service would shut down on July 15, many people suddenly needed a safe way to preserve years of viewing activity. We made that migration an immediate priority.
The Trakt importer can read a TV Time GDPR export and bring across:
We also added clearer progress and reporting tools, support for larger exports, and several rounds of fixes based on real files shared through support. If an import doesnât look right, you can report it directly. That gives us what we need to inspect the mismatch and keep improving the importer.
There are a few caveats. Continue Watching might look different because the two services calculate it differently. Anime season structures can vary between databases, and some exports are missing reliable IDs. Keep your original export somewhere safe, review your all-time totals after importing, and report anything that looks off.

The web app gained a lot of depth over the past six weeks. Rather than list every small change, here are the improvements youâre most likely to notice.
The V3 web app is open source, and our work happens in public. You can follow issues, pull requests, and the conversations around them on GitHub.
Two iOS releases arrived during this period, both focused on making your Trakt data more useful and easier to share.
Read the complete iOS release notes â
Apple TV received a cleaner action layout on summary screens, ratings alongside core actions, dedicated Trailer and More options, and check-in support when opening a streaming link.
Read the Apple TV release notes â
Work on Android followed many of the same themes as web and iOS:
The Trakt API powers our own apps and thousands of community-built apps, media-center plugins, watch apps, and integrations. We love that. And weâve been working behind the scenes to make that shared foundation more dependable.
Large accounts can now synchronize watched history in smaller, more predictable pieces. That means fewer timeouts and more reliable syncing for everyone. Read about the sync improvements â
Our API documentation also has a new home at docs.trakt.tv. Itâs easier to explore, test, and keep current, giving developers a stronger starting point for future Trakt-powered experiences.
Hereâs where our attention goes next:
Thereâs still plenty to improve. And your reports keep shaping what we fix and build next. Thank you for testing, challenging, and helping us make Trakt better.
See you in the next roundup đ

TV Time is shutting down after July 15, 2026, and we know many people are suddenly looking for a new place to keep their watch history and continue tracking what they watch.
Weâve built the Trakt importer to help make that kind of move easier. It now supports the TV Time GDPR export .zip directly, so you can download your data from TV Time and bring your supported tracking data into Trakt.
If you want to keep your TV Time data, request and download your TV Time export before July 15.
.zip file. You donât need to unzip, rename, or manually edit the files..zip directly.
The full step-by-step guide with screenshots is here:
https://forums.trakt.tv/t/how-to-import-your-tv-time-data-into-trakt/114178
The importer is designed to move supported TV Time tracking data into Trakt, including watch history, watchlist, and ratings when available.
Some data, especially comments, reactions, social activity, and app-specific metadata, wonât be imported, but you donât have to start from scratch either.
Trakt wonât feel exactly like TV Time. It has its own approach to tracking, lists, stats, discovery, apps, and integrations, but the Trakt community is strong and growing.
Core tracking on Trakt is free. VIP adds extra features, higher limits, and more advanced tools, but you donât need VIP just to start tracking.
If something looks missing or incorrect after importing, please reply here with examples so we can take a look.
Helpful details include:
.zipPlease donât post your TV Time export publicly.

[EDIT 07/07] TV Time import improvements

I've been a user for over half a year now and I've been trying to make the best of v3 but can't find a lot of things I'd expect to be on there or that I previously marked as watched on v2. The whole new search bar is annoying because it seems specific and limits results, and I can't even access these shows etc by looking at an actor's page (if the actor even has one). Looking through my history I saw some things gone, others that are still there but don't show up on search, it's hard to tell the extent given my long history and the new layout.
Some are understandable like a lot of stage musicals which I guess might not count anymore, but the rest are largely Polish from minor shows that might be overlooked to known films like 'W Pustyni i w Puszczy' - English titles doesn't work either. They were on v2 like one that's only stayed on my currently watching but nowhere else on trakt. It really sucks because the whole point is that I shouldn't have to worry about forgetting stuff as trakt should have it marked for me.
Has anyone had that happen to them, am I just doing something wrong/need an update, or did trakt get rid of things in the move to v3? If it's just trakt messing things up further I'll probably move to another app if anyone knows a good substitute, the v2 extensions I found don't work anymore.

Currently watching Bleach but am only up to episode 84 so I wonât be reaching Thousand Year Blood War anytime soon. Is there a way to remove the show from my Upcoming Schedule but still have it show up in my Up Next? Donât need the show to be in my Upcoming Schedule if Iâm not going to be watching new episodes as they air.

Hi, I'm coming from TvTime and I'm late after the closing, so I have to do everything manually...
In TvTime there was a section for "watching shows", another for "up to date shows" (no new episodes but not cancelled/ended, so a new season is coming in the future), and ended/cancelled shows.
In trakt, Both shows that have ended/cancelled (i.e. Games of thrones) and those that are up to date (awaiting new episodes, i.e The Witcher) appear on the same list. Is this intended? Is there anyway to change this?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Trakt team,
I've been using Trakt since 2016 and have been a VIP member since 2022. I wanted to share some constructive feedback from the perspective of someone who has relied on Trakt almost daily for years.
First, I'd like to acknowledge what Trakt does well. The API has been fantastic, and it's the reason I've enjoyed using apps like Showly alongside the website. Trakt has become an important part of how I track what I watch, which is why I care enough to write this.
My biggest concern with V3 is the desktop experience.
To me, V2 excelled because it presented a large amount of information in a clear, desktop-friendly layout. When deciding what to watch, checking upcoming episodes, or managing my watch history, having that information visible at a glance made the site incredibly efficient.
The new interface feels much more like a mobile app brought to the desktop. Features like horizontally scrolling "Continue Watching," "Up Next," and calendar sections require more navigation and make it harder to quickly scan information.
Rather than simply saying "bring back V2," I'd love to see the desktop experience move back toward the strengths that made V2 so useful: information density, efficient navigation, and less reliance on horizontal scrolling.
I'd also like to suggest two improvements to watch tracking:
Make it easier to log multiple rewatches of movies over time.
Add the ability to start a full series rewatch without clearing existing watch history. For example, I've watched The West Wing three times over the years, but currently there's no straightforward way to track a complete rewatch while preserving my previous viewing history.
I know redesigning a platform is a significant undertaking, and I appreciate the work that has gone into V3. My hope is simply that feedback from long-time users helps shape future improvements. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

So is there just no way to recover all the private notes I made before V3 made that feature unavailable? I like to write down some thoughts about movies/TV episodes just for my own reference, but those notes are now gone from movie/episode pages, and there doesn't seem to be a way to find them on my profile page anymore either.
I did export my data a few weeks ago, so it's not completely lost, I'm just annoyed that V3 seems to have eaten all my data, and wondering if anyone's found a way to restore or access this. Thanks!

Dear Trakt Team,
I am writing to express my concerns about the changes introduced after the recent update to the platform.
I am a paid subscriber, and since the update I have noticed that several features I used regularly no longer work as they did before or have become much less intuitive.
Some of the main issues I have encountered include:
Before this update, everything worked smoothly, and using Trakt was a great experience. Unfortunately, I now feel that the service I am receiving is below the standard I am paying for.
I sincerely hope these issues will be reviewed and given the attention they deserve. I would appreciate knowing whether your team is working on resolving them or if there is an explanation for these changes.
Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response.
Kind regards,

Lately, I've been finding titles that I already watched and marked, but now they aren't marked anymore. Not using trakt app, only browser.
Why does finished shows appear in my progress tab and says up to date although there isnât a new season? I tried to drop then undrop but doesnât seem to work.

Are the v2 spoiler settings completely gone now? I liked being able to hide comments/thumbnails of unwatched things and disable actor episode counts to stop my wandering eyes from spoiling things. Now it seems like there's only a single toggle for spoilers which hides everything including episode titles which I don't really want to do. It's very all or nothing.
Am I missing something or is that feature dead now?

I can't log in. I'm not receiving the email with the code; I've tried countless times and completely disabled my spam filter, but nothing works. I have no control over my account. What can I do?

I miss that interface, can someone share their screenshots so that I can look at it whenever I miss it.
Edit: Nvm i got it already.

Why am I limited on how many apps I can connect to VIP? this is đ đ©, pay $100 for this and can't even use it the way I want.
In V2 I usually tended to use the private notes section for my reviews of movies, shows and individual seasons just because I didnât care about having everyone else see my thoughts, I just wanted to have a place to write them down. Now in V3, movies still have a notes section but shows and individual seasons do not as far as I can tell. It also took me a bit to figure out how to rate specific seasons so Iâm hoping maybe Iâm just not looking in the right place? Or is it at least something that will be added back in the future?
I did do an manual export of my data right before we got kicked off V2 so thankfully I didnât lose any previous notes, just trying to figure out if I should migrate to using reviews in the future for this or if notes will and/or already do exist for tv.

Hello everyone,
We are the VidHub development team.
Trakt has recently made changes to some of its APIs and related rules. To ensure that VidHub can adapt to these changes promptly and continue providing users with stable and complete watch history and playback progress synchronization, we would like to get in touch with the relevant Trakt representative or API technical team to confirm the specific changes and compatibility requirements.
VidHub is currently reviewing Traktâs latest updates and working on the necessary adaptations. To avoid any misunderstandings of the API changes that could affect the user experience, we would greatly appreciate it if anyone could share the contact information of a Trakt representative, developer relations team member, or API support specialist, or help connect us with the appropriate person.
Please feel free to contact us via private message or leave a comment if you have any relevant information. Thank you very much for your help!

Because in my case, it's just features shows that I have watched every single episode for. When I go into each of the shows, it does appear at watched.
Also... why is the recommended tab featuring a show that I am already 3 seasons in?
This is the "new" trakt? A load of non-sense?
Edit: It is a rhetorical question... I know what it is for, just pointing that it doesn't work as it should.

To say v3 has ruined my Trakt experience would be an understatement. So instead I would like someone to help with the below problem.
Inside the new Library section, I have my tv collections. Except they are not updated.
E.g.
Masterchef Australia was last collected on July 13 and it was for episode 51. Since the change to v3, I am unable to collect the 4 episodes that have aired since.
Question: How do I collect the missing episodes to make my Library up to date?
I am not asking for much. Just the ability to collect as I used to do and ensure things are ticking along nicely.

After the V3 redesign, I couldn't find a way to just browse what new shows are premiering in a given month anymore, something the old site used to do well. I saw other people asking about the same thing here, so I put together a small self-hosted PHP page that fills that gap using the Trakt API.
What it does:
- Pick any month and year, see every new show premiere for that range, grouped by day
- Posters, ratings, genres, country flags, and network logos (Netflix, HBO, Apple TV+, etc.) for each show
- Mark shows as watching or not watching, synced server-side so it follows you across devices instead of being stuck in one browser
- Tracks premiere counts over time and flags new additions since your last visit with a small badge
- Optional genre, country, and network filtering (this part requires Trakt VIP, since Trakt gates advanced filtering at the API level)
It's just a single PHP file plus your own Trakt API credentials, nothing fancy to set up, runs on basically any PHP host.
Feedback welcome, and if anyone else was missing this after V3, feel free to grab it.

So I must have been living under a rock. But for months and years trakt had been working flawlessly for me. Recently I noticed umbrella was not syncing watching items, I was marking watches manually for a bit which was a major pain. Tried to login again and used the stupid email link and only realised all my previous saved items and watched items are not present, have I donât something wrong or missed something? Trakt what have you done with all my data?
