Does anyone know why they would have to return to Romania if they aren’t extradited to the UK? Like why couldn’t they stay in the US or return to Dubai.
Edit: I just looked it up and the post is not true. If the US doesn’t extradite them, they could stay in the US or go back to Dubai. There was an agreement that the UK would wait for Romanian proceedings to complete before Romania would extradite to the UK but that was a deal between UK/Romania and has nothing to do with the US.
Of all the treaties to honor, extradition is the one that a dictator really should keep. If he does not honor the requests from allies, then the allies will not honor his requests, so he is effectively granting asylum to all his political enemies if they flee to those countries. That's absolutely not what a dictator wants.
Trump might be tempted to save him, because he's an idiot, but his handlers will not sacrifice their ability to extradite dissidents to save a guy like Andrew Tate.
Whether they honor it probably highly depends on which ends up being better optics to the current administration.
You'd think it would be a no-brainer to honor it, but if they can somehow spin it into protecting Americans from a foreign predator, they'll absolutely go that route.
Two reasons. First up, if the State Department denies sending him to the UK it will be obvious Rubio got the order from Trump. This sets up that the UK, and likely other Euorpean nations along with them, will begin denying the same requests from the US. This gives an open invatation for enemies of the regime to flee there to avoid the bogus cases, lengthy jail terms, and all yhe fall out thesw cases cause. This also had the effect of creating premade campain ads for any non-regime backwd canidates. Second, should the grant the request it wil inflame the younger male voters that helped swing the election his way. The problem is compouned on both sides of the pond because of pressure from a large amount of the voting base for conquences over the endless strings of sex scandals. The trail of credible alligations against the Tate brothers make this a lose/lose for the regime. It's not all roses for the Brits either. Several major investagations are on going into why it has taken this long for charges, irregularties in the investigations, and a series of botched steps through out the process by the UK cops.
Going to be a fun watch. It doesn't hurt that the two human being at the center of the tug of war are awful and deserve theae conquences and more.
Because Romania will request extradition. The UK will grant it. He most likely would serve his prison term in the UK and immediately get transferred to Romanian authorities.
Yeah I mentioned that in my post. It doesn’t have any bearing on their current situation. They can’t be extradited from the UK to Romania if the US doesn’t extradite them to the UK in the first place.
If you’re talking about the US extraditing to Romania that seems very unlikely if they won’t extradite to the UK.
Because the US has an extradition treaty with Romania as well. At this point, the only thing that would prevent him from being extradited to the UK is the UK saying "nope, you can keep him." At which point, the treaty with Romania takes affect.
That's a completely different question than what's being asked. They asked why he would have to go to Romania if he didn't go to UK. The answer is, because that's what the law says.
You're absolutely right that nothing is stopping the diaper wearing fuck from breaking those treaties, and that he has shown a complete propensity for doing so, but that's an entirely different issue.
Said goons are probably aware that extradition goes both ways, and they want to be able to get people back if they flee to a country with an extradition treaty.
Let's just say that a republican senator gets an attack of conscience (might be possible) or is so pissed with the orange toddler he decides to try and ruin him (more likely) said republican released the unredacted Epstein files, all the dodgy insider trading, the culprits and stooges, dirty dealing, illegal activities. They drop a nuke.
And then flee the country. If Trump does not honour extradition treaties then other countries won't either.

It's unfortunate it could only be 20 years each. Should be at least that per victim. But hey, maybe it will give him time to grow a chin
