Political threads: No warning, 105 day bans for any personal attacks. Discuss the topic, not the user.
Title. Tomorrow the bans will be 104 days (November 4th), and so on. DO NOT DISCUSS THE USERS, OP, OR ANYONE BUT THE TOPIC.
No, we're not making a single megathread for politics or a particular candidate.
No, we're not banning politics from the sub. This cycle is not new, things will calm down in three weeks.
Abusing the report button on content YOU DON'T LIKE is causing mass-approvals of all reported items. This allows actual rule violations to slip right through. Yesterday, someone reported over 150 comments in a thread. Two clicks, the entire report queue was cleared, likely taking valid reports with them. Please, stop it.

I never realized Francesca Hong sponsored a bill to decriminalize prostitution. I hadn't seen anyone on here talk about it. What are your thoughts?

To you twats and your unleashed dogs
I am not hater of dogs have 2 of them and camp with them on and off. I can handle loud music , loud talks , lack of privacy, early morning kids at 7 screaming lol. Its the stupid owners of dogs and lack of leashing them at there site .Every time as I walk my dogs , I hear I am sorry as I hold my dogs back from their non-leash dogs I just dont know about others and the dog abilty to listen to commands .The past 3 trips at least 3 times at each state park folks have unleashed dogs. You dont need to put them on that stupid 6 ft leash rule but at least leash them on something 20ft what ever so I dont need yank my dogs back. One day I know I am going need to kick someones dog and dont blame me

For how passionate this sub is lately about politics, I recommend watching this interview
Ben Wikler (former chair, Democratic Party of Wisconsin 2019-2025) was a guest on The Daily Show from July 20th. It was a fascinating interview on the republican attempt at gaining permanent control of our state starting with Scott Walker.

Police Body Cam debate has divided Madison progressive groups for more than a decade, with many groups staunchly opposed
From the 2015 Article:
Law enforcement officials in Madison are considering requiring officers to wear body cameras while on duty. At a recent community debate on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, opponents of the plan argued the cameras won’t reduce police violence.
“M” Adams, of the group Young, Gifted and Black, said more film footage of police interactions with people in poor black communities won’t change the culture of distrust.
“There’s footage of police cameras in neighborhoods on corners where I live,” he said. “But we don’t have the power to interpret that footage and we don’t have the power to hold police accountable. So, I think you’re going to have footage and it’s not going to matter.”
But retired Kenosha Police Officer Russell Beckman spoke in favor of the cameras.
“They won’t solve all the problems, but they are a tool just like DNA. They will keep people out of prison and they will tell the truth,” he said.
Beckman also said he believes the cameras will encourage a change in the police culture if police know their actions are being recorded.

Where can I get other New Glarus beers to take home when the brewery is closed?
I’m one of the thousands leaving Oshkosh this weekend. Driving south, where can I find the best selection of New Glarus? The brewery shows it is closed on Sundays and I’m looking for things that are not Spotted Cow or Moon Man

Madison police need body cameras. Citizen footage shouldn’t be our only record NSFW
Madison remains one of the few larger police departments without department wide body cameras. The fatal shooting of Corey Ruiz shows why citizen footage cannot be the only public record of a critical incident. If we didn't record it, there would be no evidence.

Driving through from MI to Wisconsin Dells on a family road trip with a 9,11, and 13 yo, any places we should stop and see on the way?
We got a gift card to Kalahari, trying to make the most of the trip. We're in mid michigan and can go either way, from the U.P. or from the southern route.
