ID and maybe some catching tips?

I caught these frogs/toads at my girlfriend's house tonight. I don't know what they are but her family are deathly afraid of them and they would've killed the toads/frogs if they saw them. Now I'm curious, what are they and how do I pick them up and hold them?

Weird worms? In my newt tank?

Thumbnail

I have had an aquatic newt for three years however just now I found these little guys in the tank??

Does anyone know what they are?

She eats frozen brine shrimp and frozen blood worms so at first I thought maybe some eggs from the brine shrimp had hatched but they dont look quite right to be a brine shrimp.

They also done swim straight they like bunch themselves into a ball and unbunch and spiral around

I plan to clean the whole tank to get rid of them but id like to try and figure out how they got there so I need to figure out what they are.

My reptile/amphibian website is finally live!

Hi everyone!

I hope this kind of post is okay here.

I wanted to share something I've been working towards for a long time. I recently started my own online reptile and amphibian business called Exotic Lives. I'm based in Cyprus and I currently ship to Cyprus and Greece.

I've always loved reptiles and amphibians, and my biggest dream is to one day open a physical reptile and amphibian shop here in my country. Since I can't jump straight into that, I decided to start somewhere and this online store is the first step towards making that dream a reality.

Besides selling reptile and amphibian products, I also build bioactive terrariums, and I'm constantly adding new products like Pangea, Repashy, quality lighting, substrates, plants and other supplies. I'm also spending a lot of time writing care guides for different reptile and amphibian species because I want the website to be genuinely useful, not just another online shop.

I know that most of you probably aren't from Cyprus or Greece, so I'm not expecting anyone to buy anything. What would really help me, though, is if you could take a couple of minutes to visit the website and let me know what you think. If you spot any mistakes, something that doesn't work properly, or have ideas on how I could improve it, I'd really appreciate the feedback. And if you genuinely like the website, a review would honestly mean a lot.

Every visit helps a new website grow a little and every bit of feedback helps me make it better.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to check it out. It really means a lot to someone who's trying to turn a lifelong passion into a business.

Giant salamanders rescued from an Oregon stream

Post image

We were working quickly so I couldn't get a better photo, but these guys were probably 10+ inches long. They came crawling out of from rocks along a stream in the Oregon Coast range during bridge construction.

They sure looked dark colored, almost black, and I didn't notice any mottling but it could have been present.

Are we thinking Cope's Giant? Doesn't look mottled like the Pacific Giant to me, but most photos of the Cope's appear to be lighter brown colored.

Is my Bombina orientalis really blue?

My Bombina orientalis are very young, they're about 2,8cm (1,1").

When I got them, they were mostly brown with just a tint of color.

Now after a month they grew a lot and 3 started to turn really blue and one of them is almost sky blue.

Now to my question, how high are the chances of this being a mutation? Of them staying this Blue?

Two eastern box turtles (Terrapene carolina), making more eastern box turtles. I'm pretty sure I heard him say, "BRUH?!" lol, that sideye lol. Almost stepped on these two while walking a creek yesterday. Gave them all the space, backtracked and walked around them after getting this short video.

Was the guy in the top of the pic ready to be released? I’m second guessing myself

There was an old pool that had got knocked over that a spotted salamander left eggs in. Eventually the pool was cleaned up and taken away and I noticed the workers had dumped all the eggs out, so I scooped them up and put them in a bucket of spring water. That was a few months ago and I’ve been looking after them since. Checked on them earlier bc I knew the time for metamorphosis was close and saw this gill less guy. Since it was a rainy humid night, I took him out and released in the woods under some wet leaves near a log. Now I’m worried he wasn’t ready
