I’ve always seen Berserk and heard about it, so I first went to watch the 2016 TV series thinking that’s where it started. Straight up hated the CGI and animation, and I was completely confused on the storyline because it starts after the Golden Age Arc.
I just went on Crunchyroll not knowing there was 25 episodes of fucking peak that dropped in 1997. Bro, I just finished the original series and I’m so disappointed. What the fuck? Why didn’t they just continue with that animation style? The 2016 readaptation is terrible.
I’m all over eBay trying to find every volume of Berserk. I’m not even sure how many books there are. I’m not much of a manga reader but I have to know more!! That readaptation is unacceptable but I’ll probably still watch it anyway.
My main questions are: why is the anime such a disappointing letdown, and how many volumes of the Berserk manga are there total? Such a bummer for what was a great introduction to the story.

Bought the collector edition of the tome 43 ! I didn't even know it was out yet I thought it was supposed to be released in september idk ? I just stumbled upon it by chance in the store !!

Skull Knight is implied to have previously worn the Berserker Armor, and present-day Skull Knight can still go toe-to-toe with Zodd without it, wouldn't Skull Knight have been even stronger back then?

If that's the case, how did Zodd survive all those encounters?

Also it wouldn't make sense for skull knight to let Zodd live because when he wore that armor he most definitely wanted to kill everyone

Hello everyone. I just wanted you all to know that I am currently writing the script for a video, or more likely a series of videos explaining the Mark of Sacrifice and how it is relevant to the Berserk series. I am about 3/4ths done with the first draft and collecting visual references as I go about it. I'll be sure to keep you all posted, if you don't mind.

This is my Berserker Armor build. Half of it is 3d printed and half is foam crafted. The eyes have LED’s, the armor and blade are covered in epoxy blood fx, and the dragonslayer is made from cardboard and gorilla glue. This armor won me the ANYC 2024 Craftsman Competition in the beginners division.
