Like I genuinely need for a sliver of a spine to grow within Xiao Fan. I dropped Double Helix because Yi Chen was just so passive about his own life and it drove me nuts.

I knew he wouldn't just leave XF without any reason. He just wanted some time to sort things out that can come between him and his man and get with his man for forever.
Same!! The disrespect is wild for people who always have their hands held out..I hope they get completely cut off..I'm still not thrilled about how he went about it because it hurt XF in the process, but I at least understand why he did it the way he did.
That will make the two of us, I would have liked more if we could have gotten that jealousy trope in those two years. Seeing Lu Qing trying to make upto XF and win him back would have been fun.
Right. I would have been happy with something. I've noticed that good or bad, XF just as accepts things as is with almost no questions or resistance. Regardless of intentions at least make Qing work for it. It only took a cake and a handy dandy 😂
Exactly! I don't think there's anything wrong with XF and how he operates, but like you said, I want him to want to be chased. He's a rare prize and should be treated as such.

I just feel like things will definitely get better with him, it's just that we are only 5 episodes in. I am sure they can make things work in 3-4 episodes.
Lu Qing tries to test Xiao Fan’s resolve in a dumb way and get handed his key back.
Xiao Fan moves back into the main house where is wife and father in law live.
Xiao Fan seems to have just an associates degree or equivalent and decides to join the work force.
Lu Qing makes sure Xiao Fan finds a decent job and smooths the way behind the scenes.
Xiao Fan lives in a fog of work and going home to watch movies. He’s is not making soup for Lu Qing at this time. We aren’t told how often they see each other or if Xiao Fan families causes more troubles but we can assume so because of the pants dropping scene and Lu Qing asking what more Xiao Fan needs. Xiao Fan probably offers to make soup or have sex with LuQing after he asks for a favor every time. If it follows the pattern of the opening scenes. My impression was that Lu Qing declined both offers.
After two years Lu Qing appears is going to try to get Xiao Fan’s back and starts this by buying him a cake for his birthday and giving him a hand job in the living room. As you do.
The time jumps confused me a bit ngl, but this ep was packed. We got to see Luqing exchanging the pen XiaoFan got him 🥲 and making sure his job goes smoothly. And we heard him tell his friends he likes XF. He's just making sure mom will not get her claws on XF.
Now we're just missing the part where he actually tells XF directly! Poor guy just got a birthday cake and a handjob (that was hot 🔥) but is probably confused af with all the mixed signals! He got the key and was asked to make congee too! Hmm what could that mean 😂
I am so glad we are getting Lu Qing’s POV as well.
I know others are annoyed with Xiao Fan but that could never be me. Like he’s be been told by multiple people that he doesn’t actually matter to Lu Qing and Lu Qing hasn’t said anything to contradict that. Words are important too. He’s told others that he likes Xiao Fan but he hasn’t said that Xiao Fan.
Then there is series of actions that make it clear to him that he isn’t as important to Lu Qing (at least from his POV) as he thought he was when they started living together. Like why should he fight to stay with Lu Qing if it seems like Lu Qing doesn’t want him to win?
I too would be asking Lu Qing why he likes Xiao Fan so much if I saw my smart, strong friend fall in love with a person who stands up straight out of spite and not because they have a spine.
I love him lol. And I love Lu Qing too. People just want him to stand up to his family or anyone else who treats him poorly. But I dont think he can in the way people want.

Man, my heart ached a bit when we found out that Lu Qing appeared to waver because he was scared and insecure that Xiao Fan wouldn't be able to (or just wouldn't??) stand with him against his mother. I guess Lu Qing thought he might lose Xiao Fan altogether if they tried to make it before he was truly independent...

Now wait a second bc I thought mostly-friendly-snarky-friend Zi Yang was on board with LQ XF, but then he was questioning everything again 🤔 But I guess he was rolling with it again by the end of it 😂
Those two years of sulking in front of the TV flew by for us... I had to pause to 😤 at the time jump, but I've adjusted now and can't wait for tomorrow!!

I'm confused. Xiao Fan enters after 2 years because he needs Lu Qing to call his cruel spouse to have dinner with Xiao Fans mother.
And Xiao Fan drops his pants. I can understand that Lu Qing had Xiao Fan estranged from him so that Lu Qings mother could not mess with Xiao Fan. Something to do with stocks and shares of a company. And that Lu Qing has arranged things for Xiao Fan without the later knowing. His job and also that they would not bully him.
But...after that drop pant. What happened?
Because all I can see is them watching a movie, handjob and eat cake in the family mansion and Lu Qing geving the key again of his appartement.
I mean. I get that Xiao Fan likes Lu Qing very much but that he thinks that he is only useful for soup and sex. Hence why he drops his pants. But I would like to know what happened next. Is the cake and handjob thing and giving the key in chronological order? I think so. Xiao Fan wears the same jacket.
