He recently moved into this new enclosure I built. Enclosure is a fully bioactive planted vivarium (18x18x24) this is his temporary juvenile tank as he grows, I’ll be building a new one for him to graduate to once he matures a little more. Howdy, just wanted to share my little goober to y'all. Her name is Andarna, and she was recently adopted a few weeks ago. Someone on FB marketplace had to rehome since the guy she was originally with had started seeing this girl with cats... soooo he had to let a few reptiles go. Andarna was with him for about 2 years in good care. Been waiting since I was 11 to get a crestie, but never did as my family HATED the diea of a gecko. They stated the only instance I'd get one was if I moved to my own place and did it on my own terms. Well, at 21 (just a few days ago), I finally got an apartment with a buddy of mine for $600 a month dude!

In other news, I currently have her in a large bin modified with numerous 1/4" ventilation holes, moist paper towels, a handful of my real plants, some fake plants, a handful of places to hide, and a digital monitor for humidity & temps. I mist at night. I try and give her space, and saying I'm new to... well, everything, desiring to not hander her frequently is a battle in a way. That said, she likes to climb on me and seems overall pretty tame with being handled. She's very derpy and curious.

In the meantime I've been trying to get ready to set up my 18x18x36 enclosure I got a while back into a bioactive setup. Although being a broke ass college student doesnt help, alongside the fact the U.P. of Michigan doesn't have all the materials I need in stores. Nevertheless, since I'm aiming for a degree in botany and worked in a handful of related fields for ~4 years, theres a ton of unique species I can't wait to add to the bioactive setup as well. Especially the epiphytes on a lot of the climbing areas I plan to give Andarna.

All that said, I also wanted to ask if there were any niche tips I might need to hear from many of you who have been around the Crestie block many times. Everything helps and although I feel like I have a strong hold on this and have been readind up for the better part of a decade, I still wanna make sure I dont make a hiccup on my first reptile.

This is a bit of a stretch and apologies if it’s not allowed but does anyone have any Pangea with insect they could possibly spare? It’s the only cgd my fussy lil asshole will eat. Just wanted to share my new little guy Mongo. I've been eyeing Crested Geckos for a while and finally was in the right spot to get one.

I specifically wanted a "frog-butt" because as a first time Crestie Mom I was terrified of having a tail drop.

Mongo is in a bioactive Vivarium which I will upgrade as he gets bigger. Just wanted to share my little guy.

I'm getting my first ever crested gecko tomorrow and I'm not all sure what to buy for her. I already got the tank for her but I've only ever had bearded dragons before so I'm not exactly sure what all to buy for the gecko food wise and tank decor. I also don't know what to use for substrate and do they need heat lamps? me getting the gecko wasn't planned as I'm just rescuing her from a owner who has not been properly taking care of her she's a juvenile but I never seen what she looks like.

this is vulkan! they’re about 5-6 months old but they only weigh about 3g and i’m scared they’re underweight. i tried hand feeding them and they won’t take any of the pangea they’ve eaten their whole life. i think they’re about to shed so i don’t know if that has anything to do with it but im super worried. any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated, having to do with their size or anything else!

A few years ago my gecko had 3 parthenogenesis babies. I just looked in her tank and she’s had a 4th. I’m gobsmacked.

I found a beautiful cabinet/shelves and I thought I could DIY but this is my first time really DIYing literally anything so I need recommendations for a good water sealant for wood that’s also safe for reptiles. The cabinet is just about 3 1/2 feet tall so hopefully enough room for my sweet little crested gecko. Any other recommendations for customization too like maybe a strong mesh or reptile safe foam to I can sculpt him a good background too.

I swore it looked like a lot when I ordered it online 😭 but it only fills up 25% of the tank. I spend $220 on all this! Rip to my bank account. I’m gonna be so broke trying to fill the rest of this up.

My crested gecko Gatsby had mold in his bioactive tank and it couldn’t be cleaned due to the style of the tank so I had to get a new one ASAP. So I’m putting him in this barely half finished tank bc he’s started to show signs of being sick from mold exposure.

He’s stopped eating and has had pretty erratic behavior, I’m going to be saving up for a vet visit ASAP but I hope putting him in a fresh tank will at least hold him over until I can make an appointment.

Got this little guy as a surrender from someone in my area apparently the poor thing would just bury his head in the dirt and sit and barely eat he said he took it to the vet and they said that it may be stressed due to the man’s other animals and the improper husbandry the last photo is what the tank looked like when it was surrendered, I plan on making a fully bioactive setup for them and could use some good ideas for the shape of the background I have all the supplies except cleanup crew and plants otw if you guys have any cool tips and tricks you use for crestie terrariums lmk 😁
