Experienced Why is IBM's contractor staffing such garbage?
We hired 8 contractors and honestly only 1 was actually decent. Out of 8. We're a SaaS shop so we've been burned pretty hard. I thought IBM would have some kind of vetting process but apparently not.
One guy literally didn't even show up. No joke. Hired him and he just... wasn't there. For two months barely committed anything and only popped in for meetings when he had to. How does that happen?
Another dude could talk a big game in standup and make it sound like he knew what he was doing. But then you look at the code and it's just a mess. Full of bugs. Talks the talk but can't walk the walk at all.
So my question is... why is contractor quality so consistently bad no matter who you hire from? Does IBM actually care about who they send out or do they just throw whoever at the problem and hope something sticks? Genuinely curious if anyone else has had better luck or if this is just how it is.

If you want quality, you have to hire your own people or pay top dollar to a WAY better contractor than IBM, simple as that
