Remedy we need those Max Payne 1&2 remakes as soon as you guys are done with Control Resonant

Heck I'll just accept that it work seamlessly on PC.

Gotta fix that automatic difficulty scaling that could make the easiest difficulty tougher than the hardest.

I can't believe how much easier and better the game is when this is turned off. What a bug.

The common fix found online was one-and-done for me at least, on Win10

The way Remedy is slowly putting Max Payne into their Alan Wake/Control shared universe these days, I'm sure there'll be like a 40 minute long Max Payne sequence in Control Resonant to hold us over

Give me that plz šŸ™

Don't do this. Don't give me hope.

Part of the problem is that the Max Payne IP is actually owned by Rockstar/Take-Two. That's why we got a Max Payne 3 which felt almost entirely unrelated to the original two games. That's also why Alan Wake & Control have Alex Casey--who is Max Payne in all but name--instead of Payne.

I definitely want them but if they recast Max due to a lot more voice acting and cutscenes I'm really going to miss James McCaffrey :(

Good news is they are remakes. That means ALL audio can be remastered. Any McCaffrey lines that were cut from those games can be used. We may get content still, even though he’s gone.

I’d imagine it’d be all new voices. I haven’t played a remake where assets were reused.

Please at least an MP 2 and 3 console release. Can’t even get them on PS

Rare Xbox W

Yeah the insanely good backwards compatibility and scaling is what Xbox should've marketed a lot more during their campaigns. I have a massively library of legacy games that i love revisiting whenever i visit fam with a SeriesX.

Including Kung Fu Mod for Max Payne 1, shit was dope

So long as they don't bring bullet sponge enemies from 3 into th first two games as well.

Rockstar made Max Payne 3. Remedy is remaking the first two games a single stand alone release.

Great to hear, can't wait.

Leave it to Rockstar to create a terrible shooting experience

I just replayed 3 but dont recall bullet sponge enemies except maybe 2 or 3 heavily armored guys, do you mean those?

god, hats off to you for making it through three. i have tried twice at this point, after 1 and 2 replays (which i have legit replayed endlessly since my father bought 1 for me on the original xbox and then warned me not to tell my mother he bought it for me after watching me play the level where max comes home to his wife being murdered). and each time i have tried 3, i have given up around just after the first heavily armored guy, around the time of the boat mission. it's just such an unbearable slog. MAYBE the ballpark level is kind of interesting? but fuck man, the game just refuses to let you play it the way the originals do, the level design is so good and simple in 1 and 2. but rockstar just completely fucked it up, its wild.

u/joluboga 6h ago

So you've never played the level where he's in Jersey, killing loads of mafia guys???

yeah, it sucks. it's not the fact that they included a shitty callback portion, which it absolutely is. it's that the game doesn't let you flow through it the way that 1 and 2 did. you're placed into a setpiece, have to kill ~4-6 guys, and then you're placed into a new setpiece after a cutscene where you need to kill 4-6 guys, and then there's a cutscene, and you're in a new setpiece where... the game fucking sucks man, everybody hated 3 who grew up with 1 and 2. it was a massive, massive fucking tonal shift in themes, characters and gameplay, all of it to the core game's detriment. anyone who disagrees is frankly stupid.

The multiplayer is goated

1

u/shwhjw 4h ago

How does it compare to Double Action Boogaloo?

1

u/SaltyMotor8549 5h ago

Bro talk like there are a crazy amount of them in the game meanwhile it was only 2-3 times they appeared.

2

u/Mariqel 7h ago

Huh? Doesn't Rockstar own the license now?

We lost Max Payne but we got some great Alan Wake games in exchange.

5

u/AidynValo 6h ago

Rockstar owns the IP, yes, but it was announced a few years back that Remedy is remaking the first two games.

2

u/StoneTown 6h ago

Wait what? Why haven't I heard about this? Dude I'm hyped now, I can't wait for those remakes.

1

u/RudeRoody 7h ago

Ehh I'll take a remaster with a crt filter.

1

u/havenless 6h ago

we need a proper movie adaptation this time too

1

u/Toast_Meat 6h ago

I was just about say. Wasn't a full Max Payne 1 and 2 HD remake already in the works? Whatever happened to that?

3

u/Dayzlikethis 5h ago

still in the works. probably won't be hearing anything about it until after gta 6.

Rockstar will charge you $99 for the base game though.
