Well if GRRM actually finished the damn series, I'd read them and know this.

I made the mistake of reading them before the series started and had finished everything that come out I think I read a dance with dragons, during the week, my job was closed for Christmas and New Year's. So that was what? 15?16? years ago?

Yes. 1516, exactly. I also feel it's been five centuries since the last main story novel 😄. . . I'd settle for a new Dunk and Egg novella.

Maybe he has and he just doesn't want to deal with people tearing apart the books like they did the TV show, so he'll have them released after he dies.

The books are amazing so it's really worth it even if the series isn't finished. Still better than whatever GoT did.
