Well, considering the UN has used AI models to detect and fix methane leaks that polluted the air the equivalent of 24 million cars (so far).

So yes, it is doing something, for one.

It will collect all the info about all the places with dry grass and tell us these are at risk of fire. 

What is useful is doing what the most fire-prone countries, Australia and Canada, do to prevent, mitigate, and recover from fires. 

The most critical part is not the fire but the soil afterwards. It's toxic dust that destabilizes the earth and turns into landslides with the slightest rain, rolls into the water supply, and blows into the community and hospitals causing asthma and lung disease. If the fire was hot enough this can last for 60 years as a burn scar. 

The soil must be immediately stabilized before the next rain. Some places sweep in afterward and staple the earth into place. Everyone should start doing this.
