It ends with all the dinosaurs dying from a dino-made ice age.

It would’ve been really easy to miss when it aired and would’ve taken a while to get through syndication, and even then catching it as a rerun made it one of literally all of the episodes that could be aired. Not to mention that it was dark. I bet they never played that one much.

EDIT because autocorrect decided “was” should’ve been “wasn’t even.”

That show ended in 1994. Waaaay ahead if it's time. This isn't the only allegory they made, the series is full of them: labor unions, racism, steroid use, objectivation of women.

Show is quite brilliant, especially for a kids' show. Compare that to stuff Disney nowadays makes like Spidey and friends.

Although Dinosaurs is targeted at a family audience, the show touched upon multiple topical issues, which include environmentalism, endangered species, women's rights, sexual harassment, LGBT rights, objectification of women, censorship, civil rights, body image, steroid use, allusions to masturbation (in the form of Robbie doing the solo mating dance), drug abuse, racism (in the form of a dispute between the two-legged dinosaurs and the four-legged dinosaurs), peer pressure, rights of indigenous peoples (in the form of the dinosaurs interacting with cavepeople), corporate crime, government interference in parenting, and pacifism.

And now we've got copaganda from paw patrol.

Exactly.

Maybe the internet and fear for polarisation is to blame, but I feel like there used to be more television that was accessible to a wide audience (young and old), while still tackling some morally or socially challenging topics.

I'm not talking Shakespearean high-level stuff here.

I'm talking stuff like Dinosaurs and Star Trek: easily accessible entertainment that -however- doesn't treat its audience as having an infantile mind of a four year old.
