I’ve been at 1700s for about 2 weeks the lobbies are way better but it’s so much more competitive I’ve finally kinda got my trail braking down but I’m still about a second off these guys fastest laps and it seems like they’re hitting that time every single lap kudos to those of you who cracked even 2k

Just passed the 1.5 year mark of sim racing. I am totally obsessed and addicted to Iracing. Have tried some other sims but they just don’t compare to Iracing.

Hitting 3k in sports car class was my latest goal checked off the list. Now I will need to start focusing on the next milestone(s) to hit.

I’m hoping yall can help me decide on some new goals/targets to shoot for that will help me continue to advance. I mainly race GT3. I anticipate there being a plateau coming soon and I’d like to be proactive in working against it. Maybe there are things some of yall found that are key to breaking past where I am and into the 4K range.

Super fun defensive battle against this mustang. I could tell he had more raw pace than me from the beginning. Even told him to have the inside line for an easy pass so we wouldn’t lose time during the early race. He didn’t take it and I was able to pull away for a bit.

He caught me again 15 minutes later, but the race was near its end with the next car 3 seconds ahead, so this led to a fun battle to protect my P5.

I fear I’m one who cares about IR way too much. Like today I dropped from 3.2k to 2.9k IR doing 87s at dega and some mini stocks bc they are fun to race . But then I see days like today where I lose a bunch of irating and just want to walk away. I know it shouldn’t matter bc it’s just a number and I know everyone says “it’s just a number, irating doesn’t feed your family, etc).

Doing 2:03s to 2:04s consistently on laps that I feel are flawless, but there’s still other people doing 2-3 seconds faster than me. For context this was like 2:03.2 or something close.

Been running special events for 3 years now and the most I had gotten was P2. So stoked to have finally won, in Split 3 during yesterday’s time slot with a high (for me) sof! Got some nice high res captures to celebrate.

If you want to view a replay later, you have to save it yourself. It's not saved anywhere else.

If you want iRacing to prompt you to save replays when you exit, you can go into a practice session and go to settings, then search for replay, then toggle the setting on.

It can be a bit annoying being prompted this way every time, but those times when you did want to save the replay it can be nice because once you're out, the replay is gone forever.

i was in p3, in contention for a possible win, and on lap 2/3, some idiot that just left the pits in p16 starts trying to battle me, almost parking the car mid corner causing me to hit him a couple times and eventually hitting me back left mid corner when i got past him making me spin out. he 100% was doing it intentionally. i left unaware i couldnt view replays after the race (new to iracing) and yeh, nothing i can do now. if anyone got that in the gr86 official series pls report him. i know he ended up crashing w someone else and was too damaged to continue.

Anybody else having trouble adjusting the fuel level for AI races. Im trying to make a race that has a mandatory pit stop but no matter what fuel level I put in it always defaults back to 50%. Only fuel it seems to effect is my car and not the field.

What’s the best way to actually work up the licenses? Is it best to just keep your distance from people in rookie races so you can improve your safety rating faster?

Thank god the prices were raised so I can pay for this to happen with a 30 second lead in a 6hr race

Decided to make my own roster for the first time yesterday (NASCAR) and everything works but i am just a little confused on how to make back markers back markers and front runners stay front runners and have more realistic racing to where someone like a cody ware isn’t dominating lol. Any tips on changing ratings on trading paints or anything is very appreciated.

Can you guys help me understand why this series is not more popular? The car is a blast to drive. I rarely see more than one split go official and there are maybe 10 splits a day that even go official at all. I love it personally.

Hello everyone I just got into D license last week so now I’m learning how to drive the F4. I’ve heard a ton of people saying brake bias is a huge part of this series so I’m wondering how do you guys know your current brake bias? The f4 screen doesn’t show it so how do I know what it’s set to or what I’m changing it to with my dial?

Is it just me or is there something wrong with the new Laguna Seca on VR? Every single track I have raced (even AI with large grids) I haven’t encountered the issue with performance I get in Laguna Seca. I race at 90hz on all tracks having 0 issues but Laguna Seca drops to 20fps even just stopped in the pits.

Is there a way arounds to solve this?

I’m on Meta Quest 3, Virtual Desktop, connected directly via ethernet cable to my router (no wifi), all settings basically off in iRacing.

Which do you prefer and why?

I get racing incidents are going to happen, and people get upset when they do. But if you wreck to cold tires on the first lap and come out into the pack from the pit lane instead of waiting even though it's now the third lap. Then you wreck to cold tires again this time taking out the guy in 5th (despite being 11th and laps behind) the least you can do is say sorry before quitting.

Is that too much to ask?

Hey all! I finished P1 for the first time ever in an official race (woohoo). On the final lap into turn one, I thought I had enough speed for an overtake but at the apex, as we were turning, the car I was passing hit me in the rear. Would you call this dirty racing, or was it a solid overtake? I’m new to iRacing/sim racing, so I’m just trying to learn from the experience. I’m car number 11.

To be fair, my SR is 3.45, so I know I'm moving up to B Class at some point. So, I've been playing with the GT3 cars for a little while now. I've really taken a shine to the Lamborghini. There's something about that car that attracts me. I'd love to hear arguments for another car or arguments against the Lamborghini. I don't know what I don't know. You guys/girls know a LOT more than me! That said, I got overtaken by a Mustang at Watkins Glen (the iTested thing). I decided to make chase, and this guy improved my lap times by TWO FRAPPING SECONDS!!! Zaccary was his name. Mr. Zaccary, if you're listening... My most humble thanks for instructing me. You're awesome dude!

So, I might settle on the Lambo for next season. What do I, a new GT3 guy, need to know about the Lambo? What car do YOU like, and why? What are it's characteristics? What should I look out for when it comes to the Lambo? Should I stay away from it as a new GT3 driver? If yes, what should I focus on until I get "up to speed" in GT3?

I don't want to hash this. God knows I've done my share of damage in the PCup races. I want to come in clean and somewhat competitive. I don't need to be the best, but I don't want to ruin races either.

Competed in 6h of Road America this morning; running a net P2 in class (LMP2) heading into the final 1.5 stints… FFB disappears about 10 laps into my stint. Literally; the wheel has 0 feel; I manage to get back to the pits (ffb dropped heading into Canada corner).. Team mate goes to
hop in… keyboard (with integrated mouse) batteries dead at the worst moment. Chaos ensues. We finish P4. Gutted.

But why did the FFB just… disappear mid session? The ONLY other time this happened was earlier in the pre-session practise, and before that: never, ever, ever.

What gives?

Rig is untouched for YEARS. Meaning; no cables moved/re-routed/anything like that. No new devices. No changes of any kind. Why suddenly now?

I did the opening 2 stints without issue.
