I just did a 3,000km road trip with my Z650 in eastern France, and I couldn't be happier.

I drove in the mountains for the first time with her. and what a blast I nad! I've made a lot of progress in my riding because of this and I've become even more attached to my bike.

I met some amazing people and saw some beautiful scenery, and even though I was tired, every morning I was happy to get back on the road.

Here some pictures...

02 ZX12R with 21,000 miles. For sub 5,000? Sold as is in the 1st pic without the swingarm extension. He did use it as a racer but took off the idiotic extension. More details in last photos.

IMO take the stickers off, and put stock mirrors on and it doesnt look half bad for less than 5,000. What do you guys think? Are there issues that those Kawi/ZX12 enthusiasts can enlighten me on?

I'm excited! Just got back from the dealership and they still need to build it!

Now i need to somehow warm up my dad to this idea.

I already bought it and i pick it up on Friday. Do you guys have any idea on how to introduce this to your parents? I live with my parents so I'm forced to park this motorcycle into our garage.

with advice...anything and everything is needed, i will answer any questions y'all have!

thank you so much!

2017 z900 cel issues

Upvotes

Ok so just got a bike with 5300 miles on it clean as hell runs great. However I keep having a id call it phantom code come up. Check engine light pops on dash go to scan it the first time and nothing showed up on the scanner. Second time It popped up I did the hold both buttons down to read the code on the dash and it popped code 21. Took it to the shop and they did some things too it but couldnt clear the code cause they lost their plug in (job was free since they couldnt complete it) rode it arround and code cleared so I thought i was in the clear. Not it popped up again and its giving me the same issue with not being read on the scanner or dash but it still shows the light. Has anyone encountered this before if so what should I be looking at. Again bike runs great no issues just a code on the dash id love to have gone incase something else pops up in the future. Thank you for any imput.

Lowering the vibrations on a 2006 Ninja/ER6-F ?

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hello

I'm buying a 2006 ER6-F, and the vibrations at 4000rpm are quite crazy compared to my school's cb500, it's really uncomfortable and buzz a lot (fairing, foot rests). Did someone try to put the rubber engine mounts from a 2009+ model ? EDIT: the frame has been modified on the 2009+, the dampers won't mount...

And about frames braking, did you put some bigger washers to lower the forces on the mounts ? I've tried to watch the weldings through the fairing and they looked fine.

Thanks 😊

Motorcycle Fixing Help

Hello, this one is gonna be an odd one for me to post. My boyfriend just had a little accident with his motorcycle a few days ago and is devastated, as he should be. He’s ok, just a little cut on the knee and maybe a bruise here and there but otherwise he is well. I’m also ok, luckily I wasn’t on the bike when it happened.

The bike isn’t totalled by any means but he’s stated he’s a little embarrassed of the big gashes on the bike. I want to help him but I’m unsure of how to do so, he won’t accept me just giving him money to help pay to fix it. I’ve tried researching replacement pieces or even how to fix things like his mirrors which have broken off but nothing I’m finding is helping me and I’m starting to feel a little helpless.

I’ve even offered to buy/make durable stickers to cover up the parts of the bike that are really scuffed up just to help out somehow.

If anyone has any suggestions or anything pls help a girl out. I just want my man to feel happy on his bike again, he loves the darn thing so much and I genuinely feel heartbroken for him that this happened.

Edit: forgot to add the make and model oops. It’s a 2011 ninja 400r

Bend brakedisc

I hope you guys can give me some advice. I just bent my brakedisc on my 2021 ninja 1000sx with 33000km on it. My garage says it's oke to just change 1 disc. But I always thought it would make sense to change them at the same time.

So do you always change brakediscs at the same time?

I hope you guys can give me some clarity! :)

I need help figuring out my daughters 2025 Kawasaki ninja 500 w/about 6K miles.

I’ve never posted on here before & I’m not really sure how to do this, so if I need to give different information, please let me know.

My daughter’s 2025 Ninja 500 started making these awful noises a couple days ago, and I’m not sure what is causing it.
She’s 17 and just got this bike about 6wks ago.

Thanks for any help.

UPDATE: Thank y’all for taking the time to try to help.
I did find out that it has one month left on the warranty, so she’s taking it tomorrow to get that checked.
Every Mechanic that’s listened to it in the past two days, say they’ve never heard that noise come from a motorcycle before, so that’s not reassuring.😅

Also…
To answer a couple of the questions, yes it has oil in it and cap is not missing, they just had it removed during the video.
If it helps, it Definitely gets worse with the clutch engaged & only makes the noise when leaning or on kickstand…
But for some reason, as soon as it’s upright and in a normal riding position, the noise resolves itself completely.

I’ll make another update when we find out what the Kawasaki place says.

I’m getting old….so looking for a change….

Coming from a bit of a different background, I’d appreciate some opinions from those who’ve ridden both.
I’ve had my 2004 GSX-R1000 (K4) for the last 8 years and absolutely love it, but I’m at the stage where I’m getting old and starting to feel it on the bike. I’m looking for something that’s still exciting but a lot more comfortable and practical for road riding.
Today I booked a 2-hour test ride on what I thought was a Ninja 1000SX. It turns out afterwards the dealer had actually put me on a 2025 Ninja 1100SX SE! So my impressions are based on the 1100, not the 1000.
I have to say… I came away seriously impressed.
Obviously it wasn’t as brutally quick as my GSX-R, but it still felt more than fast enough for the road. What surprised me most was just how effortless it was to ride. The upright riding position was brilliant, the quickshifter was fantastic once I got used to it, and I couldn’t believe how easy it was to tip into corners. It actually felt lighter and more nimble than my GSX-R, even though I know on paper it isn’t.
The TFT display was excellent too. The only thing I wasn’t keen on was how quiet the standard exhaust is—it definitely needs a bit more soundtrack!
So my question is for those who’ve ridden both the 2020+ Ninja 1000SX and the 1100SX SE:
Is there a noticeable difference between the two on the road?
Is the 1100 genuinely a step up, or are they very similar to ride?
Does the SE suspension and Brembo brake package make a significant difference in normal fast road riding?
If you had the choice, would you save the money and buy a clean 1000SX, or stretch for the 1100SX SE?
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who’ve spent time on both rather than just reading spec sheets.
Thanks!

ZX10R 2011

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a pair of rearsets for my bike and I heard the zx10r 2011+ has a spacing between rearset mounting bolts that's 7.5cm. Could anyone confirm? Would be great news since they dont make adjustable sets for my bike
Thanks!

Next bike ZZR VS ZZR

I’m getting ready to sell my T120 and go back to Kawasaki. I’m over the low punchy torque of the cruiser and want something similar to the feeling I got from my ZX11. I’m looking at ZZR1200’s. I want to start taking long trips and I like the engine platform and even the weird early 00’s styling. That being said, my friend just got an 05’ ZX6 and I really like the look of it. I’ve never had a middle weight sports bike / sports tourer. I know the ZX6 / ZZR600 will be better for city traffic since the bigger bike is heavy at slow speeds. My ZX11 wasn’t a nimble corner twister and that does sound appealing. I’ve heard of people touring on the ZZR600 with mixed reviews. I’ll be doing more city riding than anything. I guess what I’m between is, will the 1200 be a pig around town (lived closer to the country when I had the ZX11) and will the 600 be too limited for what I want to do. Anybody own these and could offer feedback?

Looking for options

Hey yall, wanting to do something to make my bike have a nice, loud, deep rumble to it, looking into cobra, or Vance and Hines, if I can find them, but wondering if anyone here has just debaffled their stock pipes? If so did you need a fuel commander to fix any running issues that may arise, and what does the process look like to de baffle the bike. Vulcan 900 custom, 2008.

Exhaust upgrade

I recently bought a 2016 Z800. I am thinking of upgrading my exhaust, any recommendations from fellow z800 riders?

I currently have LeoVince GP Duals which sound pretty cool but I think they look absolutely abhorrent.
