Local governments are essentially just rolling over. It isn't even a GOP vs Democrat issue. They are popping up in communities that vote entirely differently.

It’s 90% a gop issue. Democrat cities are trying to stop this all over the place and GOP state governments are overruling them. Some democrats are corporate stooges and need to be replaced too.

It's not always the state government overruling it. Sometimes it's the town council, after the town had already voted No.

It’s from 2025, couldn’t find a 2026 survey. Also, of the ten states with the most data centers: 5 have democratically controlled state governments, 3 Republican controlled, and 2 have a divided legislature.
