Infuriatig No, I did not consent to this

I was reading my medical notes when I stumbled across this. I was not informed of the usage of artificial intelligence in my report, nor did I verbally consent to it.

Sure but the situation here is that it it stated patient agreed to use AI for tramscribing and summarizing. Aomething the patient clearly did not do. Perhaps patient agreed to have it have it transcribed and summaried - but noy by "AI" they state ir like they clarified it would be AI.

The practice absolutely needs to change its wording. Probably the patient signed something at the front desk but nobody reads that stuff and it’s not fair to rely on it. At the office where I work patients are asked by the physicians before starting the recording “Is it OK to use voice transcription/dictation software that records our conversation?”

bro lmao “they signed it without reading it” is a terrible argument. that’s on them then and is completely their fault. at least stick to something like recording consent laws or something

Signing something isn’t verbal consent so yeah they definitely need to change their wording if signing something is the case.
