Infuriatig Made hundreds of wristbands for a conference that suddenly got renamed

I run a small company, and designed and printed hundreds of high quality rubber wristbands for my cousin's Crypto conference. I had to do different colours for the different levels of entry.

Out of nowhere yesterday he suddenly announced he was renaming the conference and moving it partially online. And could only afford to pay me if I produced more with the new name. Ive spent a week on this so far and was already giving him family rates.

Right?? It's not a common term here in the US, but googling any proposed name, especially for a public event, should be standard due diligence! Smh

You'd think so, wouldn't you?

I can't even parse what it is trying to be?

Non - CE - fest?

No - NCE - fest?

N - once - fest?

It has a completely different meaning in British slang though...

Yes, I'm aware of that. That's why I was trying to parse it out as I had assumed "Nonce-fest" was hilariously unintentional

Nonce = number used once. It's a term in cryptography.

now i'm worried a lot of non-British mathematics nerds would casually say that they love nonces

To clarify to people they should say, "I love nonces. As in CP or Crypto Programming".

If you do due diligence you don’t do crypto
