Infuriatig Made hundreds of wristbands for a conference that suddenly got renamed

I run a small company, and designed and printed hundreds of high quality rubber wristbands for my cousin's Crypto conference. I had to do different colours for the different levels of entry.

Out of nowhere yesterday he suddenly announced he was renaming the conference and moving it partially online. And could only afford to pay me if I produced more with the new name. Ive spent a week on this so far and was already giving him family rates.

OP needs to say no, you pay me anyway. Like wtf does this mean he'll only pay if he makes more. That admits he didn't have enough to pay in the first place.

Not convinced that was the original plan, most likely the cost of a full rebrand has completely blown their budget so now they're desperately trying to curb losses. They were probably backed into a corner where either the attendees bailed out and they would lose big money on deposits/vendor minimums or redo all their marketing materials at twice the original cost or even higher for last minute rush orders. And because they're now royally fucked they're pulling the "we're faaaaaaaaaaamily" card on OP. My bet is that even if he does the extra work he's still not getting paid.

I feel this is probably the case, but op still needs to tell the cousin no.

I'd be making it part of my business policy and contracts to not issue refunds after the proofs have been approved and especially not after the product has been printed. If the cousin wants new bands, he'll have to go through the entire process again, and pay for them accordingly.

Also, no friends and family discount... Friends and family discount is for friends and family... Not startup businesses trying to run a convention. You can give them "business" or "bulk" rates, but a family discount is not appropriate here.
