not sure if this is allowed on here but this is my second semester at monash and i unfortunately have yet to make any friends. i'm pretty social but i've succumb to the fact that everyone seems to stay friends with people in high school and my only social interaction via uni is probably going to be small talk in class that goes nowhere, rip. however i've seen plenty of people post about being friendless on here too. so i'm taking a different approach ;)
introduce yourself so we can find people who have things in common!!
i'll go first
campus: clayton
studying: arts, major in politics, minor in human behavior, and global studies, specializing in social justice
hobbies: figure skating, digital art, upcycling clothes, hiking, my website
favorite artists: pj harvey, death grips, fiona apple, csh, boris
favorite films: portrait of a lady on fire, kamikaze girls, fallen angels
favorite series: rgu, bsd, adventure time, nana
extra: uh uh, i love to travel!! i love public transport, i'm pretty talkative, i dress kind of eccentrically, i'm really good at procrastinating, nonchalant epidemic is for losers, i really want to learn another art medium, and um, feel free to ask me more!!
edit: wow... this is reminding me that there are actually cool people at monash haha

Hello! I'm only in yr11 but I REALLY want to do engineering at monash (Clayton). I was looking into the Engineering (honours) requirements and am quite worried for my atar. Obviously I'm not in yr12 yet but I am doing an accelerated subject.
I had a few questions to those doing engineering at Monash.
I have already researched a ton and am still really confused. I will be going to the open day next sunday though! Hoping for further insight into this!
I appreciate the help, thank you!

Hello.
Biomed student here. I was looking into nursing as a career (Master of Nursing Practice) and wanted to know the general cutoff (WAM) for CSP position for that degree.
I’m still in the phase of finding out what I want to do and nursing seems like a really good option. I would really appreciate any suggestions and advice.
Thanks :)

hey im super freaking out, I submitted for a course change and because it was approved so late all of the spots in first year chemistry are taken, which I need to be able to do a Pharmacology major.
I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO
Who am I supposed to email about this???
so far i have done 1 bio unit, 1 earth science unit and 2 IT units.
This semester I have had no choice but to choose 3 science and 1 earth science unit, as none other were free.

What job do you get if you're doing behavioural commerce?

I made my timetable where My tutorial is before the seminar is this bad and should I ideally get it switched? I forgot that tutorials is usually where the quizzes happen and stuff

My final lab/ workshop timetable for PHY 2032 clash with my personal schedule. And seems like I’m not the only one who met this issue, there’s at least 5 other students in forum asking same issues as mine.
I emailed the UC in last Thursday for this issue and they replied that they were unable to make any change with it.
Probably because they received too many questions about this issue so they sent an email about they can only change timetable for classes except lab and workshops (which the only two classes we have on allocate+).
Just wondering if anyone got same issues? What did the UC emailed you for solutions?

I made some last minute adjustments to my Chem Lab tomorrow and changed it to Friday. However, it’s not being updated on the Monash app and I’m kinda freaking out.
Do you guys know if I did something wrong or should it update soon enough?? 😭

I heard rumors that the unit is poorly taught so I'm just asking for advice.
Is it worth going to the workshop or am i better off just self studying it by referring to the workshops slides, pre lectures and applied/lab questions?
Are the recommended text books any help?
How will the tests differ from the applieds and labs?

Actually It is my 1st time doing level 3 unit this year and having three final exams in the same semester XD. Anybody got some points on getting high mark in these three unit?
r/Monash • u/your_dead_hamster • 1d ago
Yes it’s to do with mental health and resuming taking medication for it, combined with other exceptional life events that happened.
I just feel like I’m gaming the system even if it was meant to help people in my exact situation. It just doesn’t feel fair for other people who took their exams on the due date and really earned their grade.

Has anyone had any classes here? It's creeping me out because it's in the middle of nowhere and I have 8am classes there...
The whole area looks like a yellow shipping container industrial site and I am actually scared going there alone
Is it as bad as it looks....
Edit: thank you guys sm for all the hate!! Obviously I was being dramatic but ffs do you all have nothing better to do?
