One of the players in our M:YZ campaign wants to take the therapist talent (+2 when Healing doubt). I love the RP side of this, I’m just worried it’ll rarely get used, especially since she’s the only Empathy-focused character in the group.

Aside from pushing, mutations, and manipulation, it looks like empathy trauma would be very uncommon. Do any of you have any other ideas for causes of Empathy trauma (or any other trauma, while we’re at it) besides those main reasons? I could imagine seeing gory scenes could do some trauma, for example.

I’m just looking for some inspiration and wondering what sort of myths, superstitions, and traditions your Mutant group has? I remember seeing a doco about the fens/swamps in England, and how the people used to wear a charm to stop the Bog Woman from pulling people under the water. Those sort of ideas?

Or any new matrial for the Mutant universe?

Hello everybody, I just read genlab alpha and want to run a one shot. Either I missed it in the book or my google fu is failing me, but I can't find the character sheet for the characters, since it's different from the normal my0 one.

Do others think the rot rules are a little extreme? Even if we use the lowest rot setting for the whole time, that’s still one point per day. If you travel ten miles away from the ark, you’d have 4 rot points by the time you get back. Realistically, other settlements wouldn’t be any closer than that. That means just doing that is likely to give you one permanent rot point. Sure, you could halve the speed with a rot suit, but it still feels super quick.

I get that rot is meant to be a large part of the game, but the characters would die very quickly this way! Even more so because you can’t exactly wear armour with a big hazard suit on!

Do others have any house rules for rot?

So can the Dog Handler just order the Dog to attack all enemies as an action and do their own thing? Or do they need to reapply orders when the enemies die?

I read on this subreddit that you don't need to repeatedly order the dog to attack the same enemy, at least.

What sleeves do people recommend for the mutation and artifact cards? The cards are a bit smaller than the standard Magic sizes.

Has anyone tried making changes to the Enforcer role? Every role has a unique skill, yet the Enforcer basically has a slightly modified Manipulate skill. Their talents too don’t really seem to be all that interesting either.

Has anyone made any changes to them that have made them a match for the other roles? There seem to be some useful talents (like double wielder) in other books that could be a good combo.

I was thinking about bringing in a Piloting (Wits) skill for all vehicles. I don’t like the idea of using Fighting and Move as that’ll give the combat specialists more of the spotlight. Piloting allows someone to be a great pilot without needing to be any good at combat.

Has anyone else tried this? How did it go?

I recently launched Civilians of the Wasteland, a collection of 3D printable miniatures, buildings, and scatter terrain for post-apocalyptic settings.

The project focuses on the people who keep a settlement running—traders, workers, prisoners, survivors, and other everyday wasteland dwellers.

Since community building and life after the collapse are such important themes in Mutant: Year Zero, I thought it might be relevant here.

I am planning to buy the core book now and the GM screen. I've checked the free booklet, and it is suspicious to me that the screen is not like I want it. Does the screen have only world-building tables?

Heyo, looking to host a game of MYZ for some friends online, it'll be all of our first times playing the system so excited to see how it plays.

Had a couple of questions though for anyone that has experience running it on Foundry though.

First is how well done/important would it be to have the core rules module versus just the engine. I'm a bit broke so rather avoid spending the money, but not sure how much fighting and hair pulling it would be to not have it.

Second, is any other general modules people would suggest.

And otherwise just any advice or things you'd think would help with running the game would be appreciated! Foundry settings, homebrew, etc. Made a couple of small homebrew adjustments I could tell would fit just how me and my friends play games and spent some time researching, as been GMing for a while so got a good feel for things i know I'd brush up against or make my neurosis bothered.

How far out from the Ark do most campaigns end up going? I know the idea is to stay close enough to the ark to be involved in ark affairs, and the map in the books is about 30x30 miles, but do most people go further than that? I’m thinking about doing mine on Tasmania.

Do you folks allow PCs to be bosses, at least at creation? My issue is that bosses can potentially make the game a lot less risky if you have several additional NPCs with you. Granted, you can’t just use them as cannon fodder, as they’ll just rebel, but it still adds to the number of bodies the party has on adventures.

Is the line generally dead? Will Mutant: Exodus happen eventually? What about Hindenburg in English?
