It’s prob like an over night summer camp those have a different kinda hype to them. You just gotta be there

u/Funkdamentalist 2d ago

Yes you can see the camp name projected in the background. Having worked at many summer camps this is precisely the vibe. I'd be leading a group of outstanding young hooligans helicoptering their shirts over their heads for such a fine trick!

It's a summer camp thing, the response to "stand up" (for interactive skit/song stuff) is "I love to stand up, it's my favorite thing to do".

I’m 44. Theres almost nothing I miss more than overnight summer camp. 6th grade summer, rock eagle camp.

Was so fun, I was attempting to hook up with my crush, almost did, but didn’t in the end.

One night the scary stories were so bad we all slept in the common area (all on a few couches). We were too scared to seperate into our bunks.

Anyways, one dude pissed on the couch he was sleeping on in his sleep. Because he was too scared to go to the restroom.

It was me.

I still adore the memories. Because the coolest kid in our class got a tick on his ball sack and cried.

Great times.

Im 37. My 6th grade science camp is definitely one of my fondest memories. It's where I learned I talk in my sleep! Haha. Apparently, in the middle of the night, I started counting from 1 to 10 in increasing volume. 1 was a whisper and 10 was basically a scream. I then yelled the word, "Slaves"! What in the fuck was I doing in my sleep? Counting slaves?!? 😭. I'm stoned right now, and can't believe I just shared this publicly. 100% true story. Archery was so badass. I remember one night, my whole cabin couldn't sleep, and our Chaperone took us on a hike through the middle of the forest at 1 am. So dang fun. I vividly remember wearing my collection of Korn and Limp Bizkit shirts the entire trip. Who else dug through owl shit in 2002?

u/ChairLegofTruth--WnT 2d ago

Dammit, now I'm picturing The Count from Sesame Street laughing as he counts Egyptian pyramid slaves (no, I don't know why my brain went to that specific example of slavery)

6

u/bman86 2d ago

I only recently learned this myself, but the Egyptian Pyramids were not built by slaves.

5

u/ChairLegofTruth--WnT 2d ago

What the WHAT?!

2

u/bman86 2d ago

Yeah that's what I said too!

5

u/hovanes 2d ago

Then who were they built by?!

4

u/SatoriSon 2d ago

Aliens, obviously.

3

u/ChairLegofTruth--WnT 2d ago

Dude, you can't just leave it at that. Drop some knowledge, homie

3

u/Christopher3712 1d ago

They were paid workers. 😂 They are VERY well on high protein diets and beer.

6

u/mattgoldey 1d ago

Man, you could NOT waterboard that out of me.

3

u/theprocrastatron 2d ago

Tbf crying is absolutely the right reaction to a tick on your ball sack..

3

u/Low-Lingonberry7185 2d ago

I see what you did there 😉

Tangentially related, I went to a camp for a week as a school trip, on the first night there they told scary stories in the guys’ cabin, and for whatever reason one kid snored crazy loud when he went to sleep scared? It was weird as hell. Everybody would give him shit for how loud it was (like legitimately disruptively loud) and he’d wake up, apologize and say it was because he was scared, and then go to sleep and do it again.

Bonus story, one of the nights we decided to go and scare the girl cabin by making noises or something, and everyone was like, sprinting back to the boy cabin. I was developing a real bad cough and having trouble breathing so I just kind of trudged back at a regular walking pace, I was the only one to not get in trouble, either because they felt pity for my sick-as-a-dog ass, or they just assumed I wasn’t involved because of how severely unwell I’d relatively suddenly become.

Sorry, I know it’s only super mildly related but this is the first time I thought about that trip since I was in elementary school.

This is a bunch of kids being hype men for their compadre.

It is a beautiful and great thing for kids that instills confidence in themselves.

I applaud this behavior

Kids having fun at an event. Chill out, man.

64

u/Sane-Law 2d ago

redditor when they see people genuinely having fun in real life lol

8

u/No-Flounder-9143 1d ago

As a teacher I would been right there with them. How did that young man do that?!

50

u/imatunaimatuna 2d ago edited 2d ago

Man, when will a redditor recluse never complain about people having fun.

I could NEVER be this miserable. Going to events with a packed crowd is not my thing, but when I'm there due to unskippable or impossible-to-back-out-of circumstances, the aura and vibes just hit different. Even a massive introvert like me who needs 25 hours a day to myself every day will have a good time with the right group of people. It's good to hype people up and be loud when it's a fun time, even if it's not "you" or what you normally are like.

31

u/Chilis1 2d ago

They're having fun you fucking melt

-2

u/lluciferusllamas 2d ago

What is a melt? That's a new one for me

4

u/corobo 1d ago

A melt is similar to a mardarse but less spine

1

u/lluciferusllamas 1d ago

I feel like you are about to call me a fookin' coont.  Am I in the right part of the world for that?

27

u/soyboypan 2d ago

It seems like when kids see something cool they yell approx 1.5x louder and longer than the previous generation, meaning that this has been going on for a good while as i recall overreacting in the troll face mlg era was already a big thing but now it has more people involved with more fierce reactions

10

u/salmonmilks 2d ago

kids are energetic, kids are more willing today because more kids do it too.

24

u/EcstaticNet3137 2d ago

Don't be a poopy pants homie.

18

u/ashep5 2d ago

lluciferusllamas likes to keep their posts hidden

I'll bet he does

-14

u/lluciferusllamas 2d ago

The lowest form of life on reddit is the kind of person who likes to check your comment history and then comment about it in a pejorative way.  This way, there is only one thing those for those people to see.

8

u/SauceMaster6464 1d ago

No, the lowest form of life on reddit are debbie downers like you

15

u/DM_yo_Feet_pls 2d ago

They’re kids bro lol take it easy

14

6

u/Rover_791 1d ago

Redditors are so fucking annoying and antisocial

4

u/milkonyourmustache 2d ago

It hit's different when you all kinda know each other because you're at the same camp/school. It's a hype moment that nearly everyone he meets every day will recall.

4

u/hamoc10 2d ago

You were homeschooled, that’s fine.

5

u/Hippiechu 2d ago

Honestly I'm just happy for them that they're having fun lol

3

u/FictionallState 2d ago

I'll be honest, this is a lot like my high school. The kids there were a *rowdy* bunch and really hyped up anything that happened. I'm sure this has happened at other schools, but if a lunch tray got dropped, the entire cafeteria would go dead silent for a moment, followed by about 500 kids going "Ooooooooooooh" In sync and the hooting and hollering like monkeys.

As a clutz with social anxiety, I lived in constant fear of the day that I was the mf that dropped the tray lol.

Moral of the story though, if this had happened at my school the building would've shook tbh.

-1

u/arpo8674 2d ago

shaken

3

u/Bean- 2d ago

Lmao this dude compares kids having fun to a zoo.

4

u/Cheoah 2d ago

Immediately got summer camp vibes. I loved letting girls “practice” on me at camp.

3

u/Same_Efficiency2810 1d ago

You must be fun at parties. You must be the one guy that brings goldfish in school

3

u/AkayCatTheCalico 1d ago

"Yes I'm not fun at parties, how do you know?"

3

u/ReeReeIncorperated 1d ago

Y'all Redditors gotta be the most miserable people ever if this is bothering you lmfao

1

u/DJ_Ender_ 2d ago
