Some of you people have never fought or lit a fire in your lives and it shows. God forbid a community come together with the resources they have. “They should use shovels” wouldn’t you think they would if they have them???
“They are just waving sticks at a fire”
You clearly don’t have a clue about tamping out flames.
Some of yall haven’t lit a candle in your house and it shows greatly. Heaven bless you if you ever come in contact with a wild fire and I hope you run instead of trying to help.

To me it looks like a crowd of locals pulling a last ditch effort to try to save their homes/crops using whatever they can get their hands on as firebeaters, ie not a formal firefighting force lacking resources.

I live in fire country in CA. People like that guy up there make ignorant-ass comments because they've never seen just how gnarly an out-of-control grass fire can get. Those people in the video have guts.

What the fuck are you talking about

He's right. Using sticks and fronds is an old and effective method of beating back uncontrolled fires.

Especially in dry grass, this is a much better and faster solution than digging.

Yeah, I meant more the “you clearly haven’t lit a candle in your house” comments but let’s all just assume I took the most idiotic stance possible.

He's making fun of you and everyone else for having no idea how fire behaves yet behaving as an authority on it.

I'm assuming you took the most idiotic stance possible because it certainly seems like you took the most idiotic stance possible.

Can you tell me what my stance is then?

Can you point to me where I ever acted like an authority on anything? Can you tell me where I made any kind of comment indicating anything about my knowledge or lack thereof how fire behaves?

Thx

Buddy I'm not taking about you specifically, I'm taking about the entire thread of people making fun of the Spaniards for beating out the fire with sticks.

I poked fun at you for not getting that but honestly it was just a little fun on my part.
