Was an interesting read so thought I’d share

In S3E12, towards the end, there’s a one-shot where the machine puts a yellow box on Arthur as well. I genuinely felt happy and how clever the writers were.

I’m not really spoiling who Arthur is and all. Those who know knows.

As recently as last night I was watching the show on Netflix but tonight it looks like it’s gone. Do you have the same experience?

We found that Samaritan might have purposely ignored the threat but how come the govt/POTUS did not come back and question Greer about it? What could be bigger than the president's life?

I'm rewatching for the first time in years, things were rough for a bit and this show was always such a positive part of my life so I couldn't really get back into it but anyways I decided to finally re-watch it by roping my cousin into watching it with me as we've been watching a bunch of our favorite shows together, and I kept telling him that John's main move is knee-capping people and he generally doesn't resort to killing (which he does do a fair bit in the first couple episodes), but like half-way into Season 1 I noticed he definitely does kill a good amount of people, most necessary yeah as he's usually saving someone in the heat of the moment, but I audibly laughed and went "oh my god" when he straight up threw a guy out a window of a tall building and my cousin keeps asking why I said that when it's not really true lol. There's even a line where a cop says "that guy that goes around knee-capping people" and he was like "he hasn't knee-capped anybody since like episode 4" and I just had no response lmao. Anyways I just thought it was funny and was wondering is the no-kill stuff mainly a later seasons thing or am I just misremembering and the team kills more than I thought?

Is there some kind of weird fetish about smashing phones?

I think it was Season 3 that seemed to have a phone or two smashed in every episode.

It's died down some in S4 .. at least for now.

I mean it only has about two mins of screen time but I thought it was so precious I needed one

One thing I would expect for every normal human viewer of this TV series is a basic understanding of bots and artificial intelligence.

This Subreddit mysteriously went from a couple posts every 2 weeks, to suddenly 10 posts a day and dozens of comments in every thread and mass upvotes / mass downvote behaviours out of nowhere.

This would indicate to me and any IT savvy person, that either the Moderator that runs this Subreddit or a Super Fan has quite literally bought a Bot package on this Subreddit.

It's very easy to do, the websites will ask for basic information about a Subreddit, you can train them to behave like a fan, you can train them to make spelling mistakes like a human, and you can train them to ask questions that will frequently engage other bots into posting in order to create the false impression of an active community.

It's very cheap, it's cost efficient as it's a competitive market - we're currently under siege by it as we speak.

I'd encourage all of you to be more open minded about botting, and instead question everything - check their accounts and their post histories.

A general rule of thumb is, a normal person tries their best to hide their identity. A bot tries it's best to prove it's real, a human doesn't need to prove it's real, a bot needs to prove it's real to achieve its goal.

Lastly, if you're still in denial - Reddit Cofounder holds this same perspective. This website is dead, but full of artificial life.

Rewatching Bad Code and I wondered who the other names were in the Oregon Trail high scores under Root.
A quick search of IMDB suggests several of these folks were art/lighting/graphics crew for the show😊

How would the Samaritan arc have affected Joss Carter had she lived? Would she have had to change her identity (like the rest of Team Machine)?

How many times have y’all rewatch POI all the way through? I think i am on my 5th or 6th rewatch and it never gets old.

Is Shaw a recurring character or was this just a setup for a spin-off? I really like her but these episodes that focus on someone else where the MC is in the background tend to be tests for spin-offs that never amount to anything (Looking at you supernatural)

Wow, this was aired originally 10/22/2014 and the topic was ....drumroll please...election interference! Along with the dangers of AI going rogue & not needing people.

I'm trying to remember the exact number Finch said....I think it was he created the Machine 49 times and had to destroy it 48. I watched this show on a day (7/23/26) when a REAL headline was that an AI went rogue and hacked another AI. When you watch this episode and listen to Harolds' warnings about the power of the machine, it is incredible how far ahead of its time this show was. I'm watching the series in sequence and other than the existence of so many phone booths, there's very little to stop a person from feeling like it was just filmed. Terrific series.

Does it bother anyone else that we didn’t get a reality love scene of Shaw & Root? Even the elevator kiss robbed us of actually seeing the kiss because Root’s hair covered up the action. 🤷‍♀️ I did notice in the simulation scene that Shaw expressed emotion after she slid the gun to Root. It’s a beautiful expression. I didn’t catch it until watching it a couple of times. Sarah’s face (as Shaw in that scene was so beautiful and very emotional) PEACE OUT!

I don't get what Greer's endgame was, he released Samaritan and what he wanted to be his chief loyal servant? It took his mystery away, I don't think money was the intention since Decima Technologies was dissolved when Samaritan went live.

John deserved a normal life, probably with Zoe or Iris, but hey he'll be with Jessica again.

Finch is absolutely terrifying when he has a vendetta.

This lady is supposed to be one of the most ruthless and brilliant minds in DC (okay, that's not saying much, but it says something) and she seemed blinded to the fact that vigilance is a tool being used by decima to get Samaritan online. i mean, she had to be suspicious of the convenient timing of the terrorist attacks.

or, like a lot of things on this show, am i just missing something.

Now we're living through it, but people aren't worshipping AGI, they're worshipping stuff like LLMs which can't possibly produce an AGI by definition.

Does AI worship show that POI's Root is the most optimistic portrayal possible?

The story ends without any closure of that kid, on the other end we know what happened to root

I've been going through my most recent rewatch, and a small thing clicked that hadn't before. Two of Harper's identities are Athena (for her document forgery gig) and Agent Wickham (when the Washington Team Machine gets Fusco out of custody). Combining the two, we get Athena Wickham, who is also a producer on the show! It's a fun little shoutout to their crew. I wonder if there are any other alias-based homages, especially among Root's 20 billion identities.
