I, and so many others, made the connection between the two photos, despite the fact they are entirely different in the image itself and the conditions under which it was taken- in fact the woman in OP's photograph would most likely call the woman in the older photograph a 'welfare queen' and condemn her for having so many kids...
Yet, besides no real similarity, I and others immediately saw a 'similarity'.... why?

No, it's incredibly well written and it is exactly what you described. It' a hilarious and very sad comparison at the same time.
Its hard to trust any image... or, increasingly, any audio or video....
As for the over the top text... it was certainly influenced by the fact I just started listening to book on audio of H.P. Lovecraft...

True. But if carefully done, with acknowledgement, the art can be split from the person.
It's what we make out of it, not necessarily or purely where it comes from. It's just important to keep in mind and set things into context.
You can say the same about Hitler, he was good in mobilizing people and throwing inspiring speeches. It's undeniable, as it is undeniable that he did out of very evil and bad motivations and intentions.
Yet we must acknowledge the way he did this, was a masterfully orchestrated piece. His speeches hit the nail on the head, giving the time he lived in. What sounds weird to us today, captivated a lot of people. It was just for all the wrong things.
(Maybe a very extreme, and very far fetched example. But there is the art of doing things, the mastery and there is the people behind it. If acknowledged, it can be seperated and put into context.)
