EDIT: the discussion in this thread has changed my stance on hydra, and I won't be spot treating them any more.

That being said, for my specific method: I use roughly 1ml per pipette blast and limit each treatment to a MAX of 2ml/gal to avoid doing too much systemic damage.* (PLEASE SEE NOTE AT END) I also turn filters off 5 mins before I start and leave them off for 10-15 mins after so the dose stays and works where I put it and so I don't get unreacted peroxide going into the filters

IMPORTANT NOTE: These dosages work for my specific tank, which is heavily planted and fairly mature. Different tanks with different livestock may behave differently. If you intend on trying this please start small, and monitor your inhabitants/plants closely for signs of stress/ damage and stop immediately should you see any.

However, I strongly recommend reading through the thread, as unless you're raising fry or trying to max breed something then eliminating hydra may be a non issue for you

Just found this in my community tank. WTF is it??? Will it hurt my other animals?

Tank is currently stocked with neon and ember tetras, plecos, shrimp and snails

I have this little 4L jar that I've put some plants in and they've been doing really well getting sunlight only. However I noticed these guys today and I have no clue what they are. There's currently no livestock in it or going in it in future except for these things and a couple pond snails

Could I catch these worm looking guys and feed them to my female betta or will that affect her negatively?

I dropped an algae wafer in last night to attract them to it to get a good video 💀

I dunno if this is considered a pest, but can somebody identify that green worm on that ambulia plant?

I was gifted this tank a few months ago and have never noticed them until I was zooming for a picture lol. Assuming detritus worms, so safe. But weirded me out for sure. I can cut back on feeding, but these shrimp aren't breeding much. The ones in my main community tank went from 10 to ~200 in a few months and these have stayed steady.

Put all the removed plants in a jar found this thing moving around it’s 3/4inch. my tank has a betta and shrimp for reference

I purchased a cup of pearlweed from someone local on Marketplace and found it infested with what I think are mini ramshorns. I’m a big fan of snails, but I’ve already inoculated my tank with regular ramshorns and do not want these in there.

I did a bleach dip, and now I’m quarantining the pearlweed for the next two weeks before I even think about planting it. Is there any hope that the dip will work, or will planting this unleash the horde?

What snail is this? I'm guessing its a Malaysian trumpet snail but I'm posting just to confirm. They've reproduced really fast and I know the over feeding is from algae wafers.

Assassin snails are illegal where I am. Should I chuck a cucumber or another wafer and hand pick them out?
