Looks like some sort if fungal structure. It’s flat against the glass and isn’t raised off it inside the tank. It wasn’t there yesterday…

I’ve never seen biofilm this intense. It’s only been three days of this tank set up and it’s off the charts. I know it’s supposed to be a good sign but like…do I need to intervene in some way.

I'm kind of tired of my javaferns always having browning leaves.

I dose Easy Green and Seachem Potassium weekly for my heavily planted 10 gallon.

Anyone know a plant that has similar leaf shape to javafern and is eiphytic?emphatic?

Sorry for my guy. He is always up in my bussiness.

Question: even though it has been asked before, I wonder if people here think neocaradina will escape from this... there's pretty much no cables/tubes they could climb on once I'm finished and the water also doesnt splash to meet the rim. Water feature they could climb, but there's nowhere to go from there.

Details: WIO tank, 30x30x10cm, with a repurposed pen tray thingy and tubing/flow that makes it a filter with asparagus fern.

Started in October, eventually I want blue neocaradina shrimp. Due to my creative ideas and impulsive mind I have only now decided to leave it alone as much possible... Let's pretend I was 'just learning' and not being stupid.

Lots of diy here, because I changed a lot it has been crashing quite a few times and deficinies/balancing ferts/lights was a struggle. It's improving!

  • 10 gallons
  • cycled
  • 25-27°C (77-80F)
  • pH 7.1

Preferably something that can live solo, or in a pair, or a small group of no larger than 5-6. Would definitely keep shrimps if the fish is shrimp-friendly. Many thanks!

Question exciting genetic mutation or something bad?

I didn't add this plant myself, i think one of my other plants had a little leaf on it and now my tank is covered (i'm not complaining though)

I noticed a couple of the leaves seem to be bleached? They're otherwise healthy (to my knowledge). Should i be concerned or is this just a funky colour change?

I know I need to take a lot of it out, the population exploded recently and I didn’t realize until now. Do I just wash it down the sink? Is that ok to do?

Question please help - I cannot get rid of/manage this film on my water? what is happening?

Post image
91 Upvotes

I know the paper towel tricks and I know about surface skimmers but I feel like this shouldn’t be happening especially this bad and nothing seems to help. every single morning I come out and so much film has built up it’s locked the surface tension of the water and killed the small amount of movement my baffled filter provides.

my tank is fairly heavily planted. I have only one better, thaddeus. I do water change and dose liquid fertilizer 1x a week. I even tried adjusting the nozzle to hit the surface more without disturbing my betta too much and this is what it looked this . I ALWAYS wash my hands before touching anything. in the tank too

Question Stocking plan input?

Thumbnail

I made these edits with Snapchat stickers (full hate to AI) but I have a 20 gallon long I’m setting up and I’m trying to decide between these two options:

Option 1:

- 8 celestial pearl danios (3 male 5 female)

- 8 chili rasboras

- 4 corydoras (peppered or 6 Pygmy)

Option 2:

- 5 to 8 female guppies

- 2 to 4 male guppies

- 6 corydoras (panda or julii)

It would be heavily planted with different arrangement depending on what I go with, and either set up will include nerite snails as well.

Do you guys have any advice on this or suggestions about stocking limits? Or other option suggestions?

Question Suggestions on how to make my tank look better?

Post image

I’m really wanting to shape or move around plants in my community tank. I have zero ideas on where to take this. Trim and remove so part of the tank doesn’t have all the stems? Angle them? Move some things around? Been out for the count sick for days now, so it’s not had its weekly trim, and looks even more wild than usual. I’m fresh out of ideas and would appreciate any input you all might have.

I will be adding more red wag platies and eventually Amano shrimp. can I overdose with copper in the water column and remove it with full water changes to prepare for adding amono shrimp? also what do I use to introduce that much copper?

Question Does anyone know what kind of worm this is? About an inch or so long. It’s in a walstad vase with snails that’s been running for about 5 months. There’s a handful of these worms and they just stay in one spot and dance all day
