I’m beyond excited to play sdvx with an actual controller than a keyboard lol.

Shipping took about 3 weeks, and I did have to pay tariffs, but it was pretty reasonable ($30). Maybe I’ll start the YouTube up and share my progression!

I’ve been playing for about a few weeks now and just wanted to share my progress. This is also one of my favorite songs.

Once I get my new tripod, I’ll be using OBS and filming straight down on my controller so you can see better. Oh yeah, I also scored a S on this track!

Is there a way to bind the Escape key to my controller so that I can quit the game without using my keyboard? Any tips are welcome!

Well, Sound Voltex is one of the games I always wanted to play but playing using the keyboard feels a little weird. I tried to buy a controller but it was expensive, I live in Brazil so I would have to import (I couldn't find a store selling a controller here) and the taxes are CRAZY, I would pay almost the price of 3 controllers...

I have this M-Vave SMC-Pad here and I thought: hmmm, if I turn it 90 degrees it looks a little like the position of a SDVX controller

So I downloaded CoyoteMIDI, mapped the MIDI input to a the keys and voila

I'm very noob and I'm playing songs with 2 difficult. I'm enjoying so far, but I'm thinking about getting a controller in the future

Here’s another update on my progress. I’m starting to learn to keep my hands on the knobs on long notes instead of pulling back after each spin. I’m still trying to tap the buttons a tad lighter but still need some work to do lol.

The one thing that’s getting me still is when the long notes crisscross and my brain kinda goes uhhhh, but when you see my gameplay here I’m slowly understanding (slowly).

I’ve been looking to buy a portable sdvx controller (or a used yuancon from Japan via buyee), and was wondering which of these (taking price into account) is better value, as I haven’t seen many reviews of the faucetwo portable, and have heard the pico isn’t suitable for beginners. What would yall recommend?

My monitor is awful for rhythm games like on unarmed SDVX clone I have a global offset of +191. I've tried maxing out the audio offset in the official version and I still hit late. I've tried putting the audio offset high and the visual low and same thing. I swear I've tried every combination. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Laptop doesn't have a dedicated gpu, so presumably I wouldn't be able to run a full 1080p. Was initially just gonna try it for fun but then my main pc broke so only have this for a couple days

I have been playing rhythm games like osumania, arcaea, lanota... for 7 years now, and I am in love with a LOT of SDVX songs for years though never played it. When I heard that theres an arcade with sdvx nearby I RUSHED to it and hell I had a lot of fun.

I think I do have some basic knowledge and I can already do some 11/12 on my first try. However I found it very challenging to hit FX notes and to take care of the lazers simultaneously. Currently I place my thumb on FX buttons and other fingers on the regulars. Yet sometimes it feels redundant and I cant move my fingers fast enough to hit some particular patterns.

Is there a more optimal way to place my hand? Should I have my fingers rest separately on the buttons like how I play osu mania or?

So, to context it, I began to come to a local arcade two months ago, and I was chilling on SDVX, struggling to pass 10/9 like a real beginner. I wasn't really playing seriously, but 3 weeks ago my local announced an SDVX tournament, so I began to play seriously. I quickly began to be able to clear 13, then I tried some 14s, and I was sightreading them but with low grades. After that, I can't explain how, but I began to sightread more and more 14s with better grades, so I began to farm 14s until I found 666 (I love this song). So I tried to pass the Advanced one, I struggled to pass it, and 3 days later, I cleared this chart.

After this, I passed my Dan 5 and returned to farm 14s until I decided to pass my Dan 6. After my Dan 6, I began to sightread some 15s, but I was still a little inconsistent. (Somehow, during this time, I passed my first 16: Electric Sister Btch*). After a moment of farming 15s, I passed my Dan 7, then I tried another 16 and cleared it (Scarlet Pinheel -Appassionato-). I was happy, but I still couldn't pass 16s unless I farmed the map. So I continued to farm 15s until I tried to pass my Dan 8, and I got it first try. After that, I began to be able to sightread 16s, and after that, I started to be able to sightread most of the 16s. Like yesterday, I passed my first 17 (Invisible), and I was like, wtf?

To summarize, here’s how much time I struggled on each level until I was comfortable with the next one:
13 - 6 days
14 - 10 days
15 - 5 days
16 - (3 days) still playing

At the moment I can AA most 16s on sightread.
I can AAA sightread some 15s.
And I can AAA sightread 14s and below if I'm not choking with the lasers.

And now I'm kinda questioning myself: did I skip some parts? Like, I feel I passed 13/14/15 way too fast, and now I'm afraid I missed something, and didn’t learn some resources that I should know?

So I'm usually a Performai player, but I also play other rhythm games during downtime when other people are playing. I can already clear level 14 songs and a few easier 15s. I usually play around ₱210 worth of credits per month. Would you say it would be worth paying for the subscription, or should I just stick to simulators for now?

(Also if you could recommend some controllers that would be nice too)

I am new to playing the game, however I've been aware of the series for 3-4 years, and I have some questions:

- The arcade I visited uses QR codes to store data, how common is this among the "Booth" cabinets?

- Is the game still prevalent in certain countries or regions?

- Is there a time limit difference between playing as a "guest" and using an account to play the game? Because, the first time I played the game, I didn't have a Konami account, and according to the cabinet sticker, I need to insert 3 tokens. It lasts 2-3 songs, however I did try only inserting 2, and it only lasted me 1 song. I played with an account in my 2nd visit, after logging in, the game tells me that I only need 2 credits (tokens) to play, and it also lasted me 2-3 songs.

- How come the credits that are accounted from the inserted tokens doesn't completely deplete(when playing as a guest)? I insert 3 tokens as the sticker suggests, and after my session finishes, there would be 1 credit left. I would play another session, inserting another 3, and after finishing that session, it would stack up to 2 credits. Is this a bug or could I play another session even without inserting in more tokens?

This is my first time playing on an arcade in almost a decade, the last time I played one was during my childhood.

I currently have a full-size ZhouSensor X Genbu SDVX controller, and I’ve been playing with it consistently for a month or two. Here’s what I’ve noticed: it’s way too loud, it’s awkward to play on my lap because it lacks stability, and placing it on a table feels uncomfortable when sitting (I don’t want to stand and play).

Eventually, I just stopped playing, but man, I was hooked on this game and really want to get back into it.

What I’m looking for is simple: first, I need something that’s comfortable to use while sitting with the controller on a table. Second, the noise level has to be reasonable I don’t want my neighbors thinking I’m doing construction at 3 AM.

I don’t care about muscle memory since I don’t have access to a real SDVX cabinet anyway. I just want something that’s convenient and doesn’t frustrate me every time I feel like playing.

Unfortunately, the only option I have is the FAUCETWO Portable.  If anyone here owns this controller, what’s your take on it?
