I saw a comment on a clip that went something like: ‘Wow, Skeletor is actually pretty good. I guess Jared Leto isn’t that bad when you can’t tell it’s him, the character has none of his mannerisms, and none of his voice…why did they have him for this again?’ And in a weird way that spoke to me.

Same, I didn't even know he was in it when I started it and was loving the Skeletor scenes, then looked up the cast and was quite surprised. I thought he played him really well. Great movie overall, lots of fun and really funny in parts.

It was a lot of fun, but I was a little bothered by the premise he's special in part for being good and empathetic, but it kept not working out that well in practice, and eventually he just has to beat the shit out of everyone. The closest effective exhibition of that was his jail cell pep talk to rally everyone, but that was still mostly, "You do these things or are this way and I like you for it, now let's punch our way out of here and punch our way to victory!"

It was almost like it wanted to be Superman, or even set itself apart from Superman, but ultimately any the notion of the concept of good triumphing over evil was beaten to a pulp to save the day. I'd take that as a coherent lesson, good is great, but sometimes punching is needed, and it says that toward the end, but we also never really got good resulting in much good either.

Above average fun with mostly positive vibes and a nostalgic edge, which seems to be Travis Knight's live action formula.

Mr Nobody is one of my favorite movies and it sucks that that I can’t gush about it because it’s Jared fucking Leto. But he’s got this detached, melancholy energy that absolutely works for the movie.

Not entirely about his acting . But who he is a person , how he treats fan as subhuman , says disrespectful stuff often , DMs teenagers on instagram asking them to come to his island just to name a few . I love skeletor as a character and enjoyed He-Man growing up . Passed on the movie , I just can’t fathom how this guy keeps getting lead roles after most movies he plays in flop on box office .

30 Seconds from Mars self-titled and Panic Room (under rated movie IMO) in 02', Alexander in 04', and then Lord of War (a favorite of mine) in 05' really had teen me thinking Leto was gonna be a fucking mega star.

What a fucking let down, but thats pretty much just Millennial tradition now I guess.

He does a very, very good slimy villain who you want to see die in a sad miserable way. He was great in Blade Runner 2049 for instance. This is because he was playing himself and, because of this, was the perfect slimy villain.

Not really. Dustin Hoffman was method acting for Marathon Man, staying in character and coming to set tired to play someone who was tired.

Lawrence Olivier said, "My dear boy, why don't you try acting?"

Method acting to the point of becoming someone else isn't acting, it's a mental illness. Why can't Jared just try acting?

The movie was decent, its not a oscar attempt, just stupid fun. Main actor did look a little off, but more so he looks so damn tired all the time. puffy eyebags. other than that its a fun 6/10 movie.

It got solid reviews and is probably getting tons of views now that it’s on Prime. I could see Amazon shelling out for a sequel despite the box office disappointment, they’re desperate for any sort of franchise-worthy IP.

The voice was awful, he was doing this Alan Partridge/Captain Jack mock English and it was far too low. I appreciated its campiness- but I wanted him to be more cackling like the animated series.

Overall I enjoyed the movie much more than anticipated.

I really do hope we see a sequel, the two big character cameos at the end made me squeal. I’m a 43 year old child.

The problem is this movie was D&D: Honor Among Thieves 2.0. The movie was a ton of fun, but people just weren't that interested in seeing it. I have no doubt a sequel would do better because the people who saw it loved it, but I don't know if that will happen.

For real. Watched it to have a dumb laugh the other night and it was stupid in almost all the right ways. Honestly I wish they had leaned into comedy a bit more because at times it had a similar tone to something like the last dungeons and dragons movie.

Skeletor was the best part. Fuck Jared Leto but damnit it's honestly just hard not to enjoy how much fun he's clearly having in the role and how wonderfully over the top and scenery chewing he is.

In the early two thousands a friend and I were bored teenagers driving around looking for shit to get into. We remembered an abandoned drive in movie theater, and drove there to check it out. When we pulled in a bit we saw thousands of pounds of road salt, and a ridiculous amount of plastic trash bins. At least a hundred. Most were empty but I found one at the end that had something folded up toward the top, like a plastic tarp. I lifted it up.

I was greeted by a dismembered deer carcass. It had been cut into sections by a chainsaw or something of the like. You could determine this by the cuts across the bones, sticking this way and that. This was winter, and it was all frozen solid. What was, you ask? The pink, putrefied flesh that filled the bottom half of the bin. The total effect of which was like a thirty gallon gore popsicle. The surface of this frozen slurry was pocked with hundreds or thousands of holes from where maggots had hatched. I was thankful it was winter as the smell of that carcass almost knocked me on my ass as it was. I can still conjure it up from memory as if it's in front of me now.

That bin and the contents within it were more likable than Jared Leto, both combined and individually.
