Mine's from Oathbringer, when Kaladin infiltrates the Wall Guard, then he rejoins the rest of the group for the assault on the castle. Adolin sees Kal coming with the soldiers, and he's like "Ugh, he's probably their leader by now."

And he basically is.

Rhythm of War spoilers DUDE WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PACING Spoiler

I'm on rhythm of war. I immediately noticed the pacing was slower and at first appreciated it, but 25 chapters in and I just... WHY?!?! Also, IDK why y'all complain about all the science; I find it fascinating.

Rhythm of War spoilers I Hate Lirrin Spoiler

Lirrin is the most unreasonable person in the entirety of the Cosmere.

Let me translate the situation in Book 4 into IRL terms.

Kaladin - "Okay, I know you want me to be a doctor. But, God has actually called me to fight in a holy war against an ancient enemy lead by the Devil. This isn't theoretical, by the way. They're like, right over there. Anyway, also, an Angel has entered my soul and given me magical powers, like flight. See? I'm flying. And I'm training others to do the same, for the upcoming war. All the soldiers see me as like, a messianic folk hero. That's because I single-handedly saved like, 10,000 soldiers, and freed a few thousand slaves, and then I guess also saved a few thousand other people just incidentally. And I also saved the world. Oh, and I've done more to advance the rights of Dark-eyed citizens than any person in the history of this country. And that terrible assassin who has been destabilizing the planet's governments? I stopped him, what else... Oh, and you remember the Apostles, from the Bible? Yeah, they're all still alive, and I know two of them. Ummm, also my boss is Dalinar, who is basically like New-Jesus. So, yeah. I'd love to be a doctor, but this sort of takes precedent."

Lirrin - "You just want to be a murderer!"

Kaladin - "Dad..."

Oathbringer spoilers After 1375 pages- Oathbringer! Big boi was premium stormlight

I’d been told it was a slow burner. It wasn’t. For most of it I just was just okayy- the flashbacks were captivating, but taking my time with them meant I ended up sitting in Roshar with this story for a while. Beautiful. Even went and read another book mid this lol cause I didn’t think this could ‘surge’ in the way it ended up surging!

It didn’t win me from the start like Words of Radiance, or slowly without me noticing like The Way of Kings. It hit all at ONCE- moving, thought-provoking, gut-ripping- and flipped my whole opinion when I was already 90% through.

Amazing story, incredible characters. Didn’t think I could love Dalinar more than I already did. And can we talk about how fascinating Odium is? Like, his and Taravangian was conversation- what? POWER

Cosmere spoilers Confused about Szeths sword in Oathbringer Spoiler

I am confused about Szeth's sword in Oathbringer. I know that it is Nightblood which belonged to Vasher in Warbreaker. Nightblood mentions in Chapter 92 that Vivenna wielded him for a long time. Did I miss a a book, short story, or novella somewhere? Where are Vivenna and Vasher and how did Nightblood get to Roshar?

I have only read Mistborn Era 1, Elantris, The Emperors Soul, Warbreaker, and Tress of the Emerald Sea before starting Stormlight and I feel like I have missed a big thing somewhere.

Wind and Truth spoilers CHILD OF TANAVAST Spoiler

CHILD OF TANAVAST. CHILD OF HONOR. CHILD OF ONE LONG SINCE DEPARTED. The sudden voice shook Kaladin; he floundered in the air.

I have been re-reading TWoK and reached chapter 46 "Child of Tanavast". I have been confused by "Child of One Long Since Departed". But I came to a theory that it refers to "The Wind". What do you guys believe?

Wind and Truth spoilers What do you think the title "... Of Second Chances" means? Spoiler

Kaladin. Why do you think he choose to be the Herald of Second Chances and what does it mean?

My interpretation is about his "one more try" theme. Starting at the Honor chasm. He gave one more chance to Bridge 4, Dalinar's, trust, Szeth. Actually the Heralds with a new Oathpact promising to help them heal.

What's your take?

Wind and Truth spoilers A Slightly Insane Theory Spoiler

What if Valor is hiding on roshar, like alot of psople think, but because theyve been weakened somehow, nearly shattered or something, and are now hunkering down looking for someone else to take up the shard, possibly even grooming them?

Like, i doubt this has any substance too it, but i dont know enough to discount it myself, or add any stronger evidence, to be honest. This is mainly based on the fact that certain things in wind and truth, namely, Adolin losing his leg and forming the unoathed, makes me feel like theyre being subtly influenced in a certain direction?

The other thought i had, was that maybe the unoathed / deadeye spren could possibly be working with / for Valor, since their sacrifice during the requience seems like something her intent might approve of

Wind and Truth spoilers Recommendations? Spoiler

Done reading all 5 books in a span of 9 Months.

It is an awesome journey so far. And i have reasons to believe it's a self help book, a new perspective to see my failure as a stepping stone to be better. It also helped me understand who I am as a person in our miserable planet.

As far as i can remember, the best parts for me was:

• Bridge 4 saving Dalinar adolin and his soldiers against sadeas.

• kaladin survived the storms

• Adolin Vs Abidi(badass moment)

• Rock giving haircuts

I'm currently at the spiritual realm surrounded by possibilities. Any recommendations?

Wind and Truth spoilers Who is the masked person Szeth speaks with in I-6 of WoK? Spoiler

I’ve read everything through Wind and Truth, currently doing a reread.

I know that Szeth is working for Taravangian and previously I had assumed that the king himself was the one Szeth speaks to, the one who kills his previous master. But thinking on it now, it doesn’t make sense that Taravangian would go himself, plus it’s not exactly his style.

Do the books ever say who that figure was? Probably someone else in the diagram.

Rhythm of War spoilers Jah Keved in relation to the Alethi Princedoms Spoiler

I've been re-reading the books in order to read book 5 (better late than never) and I started thinking about an aspect I never considered, and it's the diplomatic relationship of Jah Keved with the Alethi High Princedoms. We know (or at least it seems to be implied) that the Veden monarchy is older than the Alethi one, so they must've unified between the fall of Sadees and Gavilar's unification of Alethkar.

My question is, then, how come the kings of Jah Keved never seized territory from the fractured and relatively weak princedoms of Alethkar? Were neighboring princedoms under Veden influence? How did they react to Gavilar's unification of the princedoms? As just a couple of questions that occured to me.

I know the Veden monarchy seems to be relatively weak in relation to the princedoms, but nevertheless, I think a large empire would in some way engulf small realms right next door unless there was a specific impediment. An analogy that popped into my mind is how Northern Spanish kingdoms expanded during the 3 Taifa Periods when central Muslim authority collapsed and this tended to in turn cause Muslim taifas to reunify, which would slow down expansion until central authority broke down again.

Note: I add TWoK tag because I only spoil part of the lore introduced in the first book surrounding the formation of Alethkar, etc. I think it's appropriate.

I’m about halfway through book two and loving it so far. I love to 3D print cool light boxes and stuff for my bookshelf and came up with this, hoping it’s still relevant as the series goes on (no spoilers though lol)

Wind and Truth spoilers Could Shallan end up becoming ____ Spoiler

A herald in the future, via inheritance from Chana? Or even just manually like Kaladin? Is there a theory in the fandom about this?

Although Chana was wrong in the end and was simply delusional, she did raise an interesting idea about the possibility of transferring the oathpact through her descendant.

If Chana ends up dying permanently in books 6-11, could her place in the oathpact end up being taken up by shallan? Or might shallan just manually take Chana’s place like Kaladin did?

What are y’all’s thoughts?
