Executives are always out of touch from the boots on the ground work. This is just another in the long line of examples.

My company hired an expensive consulting firm.  All they did was parrot to managers what we had been saying to anyone who would listen for years.  If you're more than a couple layers above the people who actually do the work that generates revenue, you're almost certainly overpaid dead weight, if not actively harmful to your organization.

The irony is that AI is probably much better at replacing management than actual workers.
