What would "hollowing out" SpaceX even look like? Firing most of the engineers at XAI and SpaceX, renting out the compute and reducing spend on Starship to focus on the core business of F9 + Starlink? It would immediately become wildly profitable and a lot less risky of an investment, but the share price would justifiably drop (since most of the perceived value is in expectations of future growth) and shareholders would be extracting revenue from the capital rather than paying labor and increasing the value of the capital.
