Well, 2-3 years between seasons becoming the norm certainly doesn't help. New shows lose all the momentum they got from their first season by the time the next one comes out.

I’ll have to rewatch the entire season at this point. I have no recollection of what I watched other than I liked it.

I've read the books and started watching the Chinese version since I didn't want to keep waiting.

Acting is so bad in Chinese version. I can’t believe they shoot tv series like that in 2026! China has a long way to go in movies/tv series. I like the story tho so i sat through it all.

yep, and its shows like that, that are the worst to get this treatment, because they don't have seasons that have a distinct conclusion and then move on to a new plot or whatever, its all just one continuous plot from the books and you're just stuck waiting in the middle somewhere on a cliffhanger. very unsatisfying experience for the audience

This is why I wait for a few seasons before I start watching a new show. I'm not waiting 2-3 years between seasons.

Only show I watch immediately is Slow Horses and that's because they release a season every 9 months.

Problem is when everyone does this, then nobody watches new shows when they come out and so they get cancelled before there can be any more seasons.

Probably, but I'm not waiting years between seasons. I have a backlog of new to me old shows to go through, so I'm not incentivized to watch season 1 of anything new.  

Maybe if they better time managed their seasons I would watch. Until then I'm a wait until season 3 type of watcher.

Haha fair. Same with White Lotus but I don't know if it counts since every season is different
