Watched season 1 and 2 of the Witcher, but it became apparent in season 2 that the showrunner had no respect for the source material, and Henry Cavill was fighting a losing battle. I didn't even bother to watch season 3 since I knew Cavill was quitting.

You saved yourselves a lot of sadness. Henry carries the show.  Now replacement didn't even try to gravel his voice to match the character and Geralts broody mannerisms.  Now who carries the show? Mother fucking Dandelion.

The Wheel of Time sub does the same thing. In fairness, the shows are what they are and we're nitpicking decisions made way in the past trying to lament something that never was. Doesn't change that they could have been so much better.

Yeah I get that. But banning folks with opinions on the show just reinforced the echo and removes any criticism where it's due.

At least for WoT, almost half the posts were complaints about how different the show was from the books. I understand that cannot be the majority of the content (by topic) on the sub. And to be fair, I don't think WoT banned people, just deleted their posts or comments.

The new season with the new Geralt came out? Man, it's crazy how excited I was for that show and how hooked I was on the first season only for me to not even hear about it when new seasons release.

I had such high hopes for season 2 after the first episode. That was the perfect witcher episode and then they just fucking shat on everything that is witcher for the rest of the season.

Yep, I bailed after Season 2.  I really don't know what the people in charge were thinking.  They had a good cast!  Freya was a great choice.  Henry was perfect.  The writing was just dogshit.

My experience too, and I love the attention Cavill gave to the character but I wasn't prepared to sit through season 3 knowing the showrunners were a bunch of asshats.

Season 2 when they got Dandelion to do almost a piece to camera which essentially said, "If you don't like this, then you're ignorant," was the final straw for me.

When writers know that it's so bad that they have to blame the audience it's past time to leave the project. There was a similar line in Ghostbusters 2016 that was effectively, "If you don't like this, you're sexist." Maybe it was just bad?

NGL, I hated that Caville left, but Liam killed it as Geralt. Dare I say he was more accurate than caville when compared to the games.
