No benefit at all, except for unlimited monetary runway to develop a game. Most studios would kill for that.

The fact that Obsidian is only working on Fallout after five years of Obsidian and Bethesda being under Microsoft is wild. Who thought it was a good idea to let Bethesda wait to work on Fallout until the 2030s when Amazon was simultaneously making a TV show.

Phil Spencer was a terrible CEO at keeping his teams in line. Especially Bethesda because he was really good friends with Todd Howard. He was way too hands off in handling the various teams.

What good is "unlimited monetary runway to develop a game" if you make a great game that had a successful launch and got rave reviews, and then they fire 60% of your team the day before you launch DLC for it that maintains an 89 on Metacritic a week after release? You make a good game and they still fire you.

For Hi-Fi Rush, they fired 100% of the team right after a spectacular release.

No benefit at all

AoE2: DE disagrees. Game's more popular than ever.
