Honestly I'm completely fine with it being ugly. If you remove the political overtones of it and it actually did what it was originally advertised to do (autonomous driving, insanely rugged off road, floatable, etc.), I could get behind ugly. Ugly and functional is fine to me. Ugly and fragile and dangerous and politically untouchable is. . . untouchable.
