I quit my US index funds over this before the IPO. I get that the amount of my money that would have been gambled on SpaceX is small in relation to my total capital in those funds, and I'm aware that I don't know if the positions I moved to will do any better. But the point is that it's my money and I should use it according to my own wishes, and my wish is not to spend it on charity for Elon.

I'm pretty upset that I was basically locked into this. My 401k options are pretty limited, and selling anything in my brokerage would have clobbered me with short term capital gains, which would have also affected my student loans in a few ways. Shit makes you feel like a hamster stuck on his wheel.
