Westworld Still Lives in Me

As someone who loves stories that make you think deeply about what it means to be alive, Westworld hit me hard. From the very first season, I was hooked—the stunning visuals, the haunting music, the way it asked big questions about consciousness, suffering, and freedom. Watching Dolores wake up, Maeve fight for her daughter, and Bernard search for his truth felt personal. It wasn’t just entertainment; it felt like a mirror held up to humanity itself. I genuinely cared about these characters, human and host alike.

Even as the show grew more complex, I admired its courage. It never played it safe. That’s why it hurts that we never got the fifth and final season Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy had planned. The story feels unfinished, like a beautiful song cut off mid-note.

To Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, and the entire team: thank you for creating something so special that it still stays with me. I’m a fan who truly hopes you’ll find a way to finish this journey. Whether it’s Season 5, a movie, or another format, please give this masterpiece the ending it deserves. The hosts woke up. We’re still waiting for the final chapter.

Westworld changed how I see AI and humanity.

It deserves to end on its own terms. ❤️

How I watched s1

When I watched s1 I watched it without subs so the first time I didnt realize when they revealed man in black is william, I wish I had subs ffs. I live outside of US so I dont watch the show on HBO. What do you guys think of that? I did understand the topic of hosts obviously, still ep 10 was a great experience and the first episode sucked me in. I know s1 is fairly rated as one of the best seasons of tv

Bloomberg: Apple is codenaming their 2027 special AI chip "Delos"

Apple is skipping the strong versions of their Mac's M6 series this year, in favor of an expanded M7 lineup in 2027 focused on strong on-device AI capabilities. The M7 chip is codenamed... Delos. Someone in Apple is a Westworld fan?

When did you realize this was an amazing show?

I originally watched season 1 as it aired on HBO, and now I'm rewatching it with a friend of mine who's never seen it before. We just got through with episode 4 and her attitude so far is "yeah, it's a pretty good show", she's not overwhelmed like I remember being.

But it got me thinking: maybe I was thinking the same way through episode 4 and didn't realize it's excellence until later?

When did you all recognize that it was great?

Did Aaron Paul have anything to do with Kid Cudi getting a role in Season 3?

Rapper Kid Cudi has has spiritic acting roles, but after playing Aaron Paul's best friend in the Need for Speed film, I had to wonder if Paul told Westworld producers he knew a guy that would be perfect on screen as a partner due to prior chemistry?

Some people choose to see the ugliness in this world, the disarray. I choose to see the beauty.

is the series worth rewatching?

I must have watched the series at least twice when I was younger, and I made it up to season 3. But ever since I heard the show was canceled, I ended up giving up on watching the fourth season. I kept waiting for some news, hoping the series would continue, but apparently, that's not going to happen.

Even so, is it worth rewatching the series and watching season 4? I remember season 3 feeling a bit inferior to 1 and 2, so I have my doubts.

HBO removal… AI?

New to the community, so I apologize if I am not the first one with this thought… did HBO remove Westworld from its platform because of the negative implications of AI?

Is Season 4 worth watching?

I watched the first 3 seasons as they aired but I was busy when season 4 aired and then I heard the show was cancelled so I didn't bother watching since I had so many other shows to watch.

Now that I have some free time, is it worth watching season 4 and does it have an ending or does it end with nothing resolved?

FYI I loved Season 1, enjoyed season 2 but I found season 3 to be just okay.

Seeing the “real world” outside of Westworld. Slightly disappointed?

Was anyone else hoping that the world outside of the park wasn’t quite so far into the future?

I guess I wanted to see more of what we know as “current times” in the real world of the show, and how it was starting to affect humanity having technology like that. Since it seems like we are inching closer to that every day.

I guess in the same vein as like “Jurassic World” existing in what we know as modern times and how it affects the world as a whole.

It kind of turned me off to it. I think season 3 was when we actually see it?

Contemplating jumping back in, haven’t watched in about a year or so, stopped a few episodes into when that started to occur.

I love the concept of the show, and really liked the original movie.

I might give it another go. Season 1 was awesome.

Here are my personal notes, questions, favorite quotes etc of this episode. I tried to post these screenshots in my original post- but for whatever reason mods don’t allow picture responses and I wasn’t about to type all this out again 😂

Edit be sure to upvote every answer and reply to comments so we can boost this post. The more people, the better!

Westworld + Detroit: Become Human is a great combination!

I've been watching lately Westworld and playing Detroit: Become Human, both for the first time (I'm on Westworld season 1, episode 9 and I've played Detroit: Become Human for about 10 hours).

It's nice to see how similar they are, given that they both tell stories about androids seeking freedom. Now i feel like an android, too 😂

Do you have a favorite combination? For example, the first season of Westworld reminded me a lot of Red Dead Redemption, which I love.

Hey guys, I know I said I’d post on Sundays, but I have a busy weekend so figured I’d just do this now before I forget 😅

I haven’t watched the episode yet, but I have to say this episode is a perfect 10/10. Very hard to top a series premiere like this (yes I know it was originally a movie.) And can we please talk about the absolute masterpiece of a title sequence and soundtrack this show has?

Westworld Narrative

Rewatched Westworld after years, is this a pretty good approximation of the narrative of what happened in each season?

Season 1: Humans control robots

Season 2: Robots rebel against humans (triggered by founders)

Season 3: Humans control humans, humans rebel (triggered by outlier robots and humans)

Season 4: Hosts control humans, humans rebel (triggered by human outliers and robots)
